After retiring at age 70 and moving to this beautiful part of the Hunter, I needed to find a new family GP. Neighbors recommended Dr. Marguerite Hennes at Karuah Medical Center. This was 10 years ago. Over this entire period I have found Dr. Hennes a highly reliable and competent provider of medical diagnosis, treatment and follow up in a caring and compassionate manner.
Staff in the Practice are also first rate. Always ready to provide reliable and friendly assistance with appointments and inquires.

My family and I have been following up with Dr Marguerite for the past few years. She has been an incredible professional, caring and honest GP that we have meet. I was born in 1933 and since 2012 have been a constant patient of Dr Marguerite Hennes, the Karuah Medical Centre principal. Dr Hennes is an excellent general medical practitioner who provides for her patients, with the support of a registered nurse and a nearby pathology unit as well as readily available medical specialists, a comprehensive medical service. She does so promptly, in a calm and caring way with great skill, much medical knowledge, considerable experience and an ever-present cheerful demeanor. Her premises are well appointed and her staff sympathetic, Dr Hennes is thorough in her examination and accurate in her diagnosis. Her prognosis is relevant and her advice is always to the point. She has a continuing and empathetic interest in patient outcome. She does not hesitate in specialist referral if that course is warranted. I have a number of continuing ailments in my declining years that have been addressed by Dr Hennes. Her continuing care has enabled me to remain living in my home during my declining years which may have been otherwise without her care. I highly recommend Dr Hennes as a medical practitioner in general practice.

Dr Marguerite Hennes has helped me to manage chronic pain since she started at the practice 15 years or more ago. She is straight to the point which which suits me very well. I highly recommend Dr Hennes.

Dr. Hennes and the team have been treating me for many years. From colds/flus to severe inner ear infections. Dr. Hennes is empathetic, a great communicator, and always tries to help no matter the issue. Highly recommended!

I thoroughly recommend Karuah Medical Centre. Dr Hennes is very thorough and accurate with her diagnosis. You can get a prompt appointment and the staff are friendly and caring.

Incompetent practice, refused to do a blood test on a near 12 year old boy because they clearly don't have a clue what they are doing and need 2 people to do a blood test. These are not the rules of the pathologist my son has a medical condition that requires blood tests often and we've never experienced this before. Won't be back, so rude!

Doctors rush everyone in and out, the wait time is at least 45 minutes and you'll be lucky to get 5 minutes with the doctor. From what I've seen waiting they're quite rude to their staff too. Try triple C up the road or another doctor out of town
