Karuah Seafood and Thai

We wanted a reasonably quick meal while travelling through, but not take away junk food.
While not lightning fast, it was certainly timely, and the food was excellent. The locals must love this place!

Absolutely worth heading off the highway for lunch. The seafood fresh and crumbed, battered or grilled to order. My mum had some delicious freshly crumbed flathead, I had freshly crumbed calamari and if you aren’t into seafood my dad had a delicious beef burger. Chips were good too. Enjoyed the delicious feast down by the river. Great stop off the highway if you want a break from the traffic and a good feed. Big thumbs up @Karuah seafood and Thai 👍

Quite surprised with this restaurant. We passed by Karuah for the charging station. This restaurant is beside it. Ordered Thai food and it was amazing! Kudos to the owners :)

Great food and really friendly and fast service, had breakfast today but have been for lunch before and it’s always amazing.

Visited here recently and previously tried the other chip takeaway in town.
Surprised with this one, looks a bit standard from outside but venture in and be presented with many types of fresh fish and other items clearly presented.for your choosing.

Very clean and well displayed menu boards.

Chips were good and the fish had fresh batter made up which to me was perfect. A nice thin and even layer with tender fish inside. Not a fan of hugely battered fish with more batter then fish and this was the opposite.

Small amount of seating out back and the Thai looked and smelled great.

Will be back, great work to the owners.

We ate here on the weekend and it was the best seafood I have had in a long time, so fresh. My sister had the burger and said it was also delicious. Owner was lovely too!. My first time in Karuah, when I go back will definitely eating here again

If you're on the free way and passing by Karuah and thinking to yourself "I wonder what's in Karuah? I'm a bit hungry and I hear they have great oysters there. "
Take the free way exit and go a little bit out of your way and stop in at Karuah seafood. They use fresh quality foods and cook it perfectly. There is a pretty good selection to cover most tastes.
I got the Thai seafood basket which had a pretty decent sized serving. I didn't like the soft shell crab but that is a reflection on my taste buds and not the quality of the food.
I'd go back there without hesitation.
There are so many great places, people and eateries just off the highways of life. Take a few minutes to detour and make some memories.

Went for several whiting fillets and some prawns with crumbs plus a small serve of chips... so yummy!!!

Great food. We got fish and chips. Super yummy and a great pit stop if heading up or down the freeway.

Owner there is always friendly and helpful. Food is consistently fresh and made to order. You can taste they frequently change the oil in the fryers and it shows in the colour of the batter. Will always choose this store for takeaways.

Had the snack pack here last weekend. Chicken was seasoned well and the chips were perfect. Great amount of sauce. Glad to see them on the menu, great addition!!! Can't wait to get stuck into another 😛

Stopped in for a bite to eat and I was impressed by the freshness of all things served. The man who served us was also very kind. Highly recommend!

I've been coming here since before the new owners, and I'm glad that the shop is under new management. The last owners were nasty and extremely slow (I work in a takeaway shop, I'm not being picky). The new management are lovely and fast. Their chips are lovely and very good prices all around.

Battered mussels were size of pipis but you know aside from that friendly cust service, few different choices and would definitely come again :)

Go to place for yummy take away. Excellent variety.

Proper takeaway. Really good food and service. Full seafood menu, plus burgers, Thai, scallops, chips, etc. Outdoor eating area.

Totally awesome.. crunchy chips with soft inside.. fish still firm and juicy...
Will be visiting her in the future for sure.. cant wait to taste the Thai menu as well

Visited pre Covid19, Great atmosphere, great food a real find with a fresh take on fresh seafood.
