Quirky/ pioneer style cottage cafe located in Bowning, just off the highway. Off street parking located at the entrance, easy access to this unique interior. Fast and friendly service, a lot of the food on display looked home made, scones were popular. Good coffee stop for those heading along the highway.

Great little cafe just off the Hume Highway. We had the Chicken Caesar Salad, Scone with Jam, Salt and Pepper Calamari, Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich and Cauliflower & Bacon Soup. Food and ambiance were good. Highly recommended!

It’s worth the five minute detour to spare yourself the crowds at Goulburn or Exeter. Delightful atmosphere, delicious scones & jam, and a loud braying donkey. Who could want more.

This is a delightful Cafe to enjoy a break from a long road trip. The atmosphere is just amazing with the beautiful heavy wooden doors, the decor inside, the garden features in the outside sitting area with scenic background view.
The customer service is friendly and staff are dressed in welcoming quaint outfits. The food and coffee was good.

The only small "would like to see" item would have been gravy for my chicken schnitzel meal. They did offer other condiments & the chicken was not dry so I was still satisfied. My son enjoyed the quiche (high praise from him).

Overall I'll be stopping at this Cafe next time I'm in the area.

A lovely little cafe with a basic menu. The staff were really nice.
Plenty of interesting things to read all over the walls. Lovely home made jams, chutneys and relish on sale from local suppliers.

Nice place for a good quiet meal with nostalgic early days farming relics and world war era magazines as place maps. Seafood and fish was good.

I've found this place from the advertisement board on the side of the highway to Sydney.
Turns out to be a good place to have a relaxing tea break.
It is probably one of the most instagrammable cafes in the area since it offers many features of the earlier days farm and settlers in the area.
There are also some farm animals on-site for the visitors to see and feed, you can get them on the counter for an exchange of a donation.
Menu selections are quite good and well worth to try.
Electronic payments supported and no surcharge.
The staff are also well dressed and very helpful and friendly too.
This is a must-visit place when travelling on the highway.

Don't bother stopping at a road house on the side of the highway. Drive off the highway for a couple minutes and get a feed at a place where people actually care about their job and what they do. This is an awesome little cafe and a lot of work has gone into it. Support them, pull in and enjoy their home made cakes, meals and scones.

What a pleasant place to be. Nice cafe for a stop with a great animal from surrounding and traditional Australian setting. The staff is dressed in historical close and are very friendly. Really a late to stop and take some time to have a cup of coffee or a drink and see the surrounding sceneries and animals. Perfect for kids too.
Only open until early afternoon!

A MUST pit stop Sydney to Melbourne.
It's on the hwy.
Sit and drink your tea while the kids brush and pet the horse and donkey with stunning views.
Such a delight.

What an absolute gem of a place being how close it is to the Hume Highway and to a major Town Centre no more than 15 minutes drive which is Yass all I saw was a trailer with a sign on it and a few other things along the way coming from the Melbourne end and decided I have to stop plus it was a good time for morning tea and a break from driving and to be able to get out and to see this little niche of a cafe which has some nice volunteers as well they'll know who I'm talking about here I would hope that this place does not become like others too mainstream because this place is so good I'll have to stop there on the way backup when here next

Like so many, we stopped on a whim on the way past. It's a beautiful quiet spot with good service. I had the house special sandwich and it was delicious 😋

We have been coming to Rollonin Cafe for years and years. It’s the perfect halfway point to stop for lunch on the Hume Highway. The food and service is always great. Atmosphere and gardens are the best a great place to stop if you have kids to run around, or garden lovers who need some space to stroll after a long drive.

The cafe was like stepping back in time with rustic wooden walls and some of them covered in old news papers. It was a very pleasant afternoon tea with family. We will definitely go back again.

It was stepping back in time at Bowning. Log cabin dining room and verandah, lovely staff dressed as ladies from past era. Newspaper lined walls and old style kitchen dresser and back 'yards with mock graveyard, bloke behind gaol door, sheriffs office, hotel etc. Friendly Clydesdale horse, donkey and friendly dog to pat.
Relaxing and welcoming.
Its very worthwhile "Rollonin"for great food and tea.
We stayed an hour, not intending to do so, to overlook the hills and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Will always stop on our travel down or up the highway.
