My daughters and I really enjoyed our time at the zoo. We spent 4 hours walking around and taking in all the wonderful animals. Every enclosure had animals in it so we felt very lucky that that was the case. The show at the middle of the day was wonderful, however I would note that the music was too loud over the presenters voices. I did love that so much of what they talk about is based and still surrounded on Steve Irwin. It's lovely to see his legacy lives on.

Oh, I miss Australia, we were just getting to know it a tiny bit. I want to go back! That being said, it is nice to be home! One place I really enjoyed was the Australia Zoo home of the Crocodile Hunter. When we pulled up, I admit I was a bit skeptical. A zoo, really? Then I saw the entry price and nearly fainted. An adult ticket is $70, $60 for senior (68 and up) or student. On the way, I was looking at their restaurants and was equally dismayed at their prices! After experiencing about half the place, seeing a few of their daily shows, and learning about their shared passion to preserve the natural beauty of native wildlife, I have a whole new attitude! I love the place! The admission may be a bit pricey for a zoo, but it's a small price to pay for entry into the world of the Irwin family and their commitment to preserving global wildlife! As for the food, we only sampled some of their carnival type food. It was very good and freshly prepared. Well worth the price. Their 'sit down' restaurant had offerings you might only find in the fanciest of places. While I originally thought $100 per person was a lot for a 'zoo' I realized that in any amusement park in the states you'd spend that much for a couple bottles of water, yesterday's burger, soggy fries, a soda, and an ice cream sundae. It is also encouraged to bring your own food and have a picnic lunch! Oh, and unlike the airport, they let you bring your own water and even have filling stations for free water refills. So, if you should ever find yourself near Brisbane on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, do make the trip up to "Steve's place"! You'll be glad you did!
PS plan to spend a couple of days if you want to really experience the place! They have two day passes for just a few more $.

Had a wonderful day at the Zoo. The area is so large but with easy walkways and dedicated areas you can decide when and where to be for the various live action shows. If you are on the Sunshine Coast you should visit at least once and enjoy the great work the Irwin family have done

It is recommended to go to Australia Zoo once in winter and summer

Visiting Australia Zoo was one of the highlights of our trip. A good escape from busy Brisbane City.

The animals seem content and the premises well maintained. Easy access in and out-with ample parking. Main restaurant had typical fast food and restrooms were available just below.

Watched a show but think that it could do with some improvement-the human side. The animals performed 100%!

Solid zoo, it's obvious how much they care for their animals just by the sheer amount of space they're given. Keepers are passionate and helpful. It's good to know the price of my ticket goes towards funding conservation programs around the world

We had a great trip visiting Australia Zoo, and our overseas visitors loved it! We got to feed the giraffes, pat koalas and give food to Kangaroos.

Would recommend to have a look on show times and activities prior visiting so you can plan your trip better, we missed some of the activities as we did not look for all the things you can do there beforehand. Some of the things you also need to make a booking in advance.

Can highly recommend visiting.

Had a great day, plenty to see and do. Plenty of walking 🚶, variety of food options. Great viewing spots for all the different animals. Will continue to do more of the animal encounters. This time was the Giraffe 🦒 snap shot 😀

Spent around half a day here and it’s really well designed and decorated. Lots of trees which offer you natural shade, so clean and well maintained. Lots of animals to see, you can pet kangaroos and they also offer different shows, which we didn’t attend.
My tip is to skip them/ a few because the zoo gets really empty. Sometimes it was just me and my husband walking around. Also, if you go in the morning, I’d recommend taking the shuttle they offer (once you are in the zoo) to the Africa section, which is in the far back. Then you can make your way from the far back to the entrance/exit. This way it may be a bit quieter.
The zoo is not just for kids and families but also adults :)

The only point I would criticise is the species-appropriate keeping for some of the animals… thinking here of the elephants and cheetahs. The are seemed way to small for them, the two cheetahs were walking up and down, which I believe isn’t a good sign.
Other than that the areas for the other animals seemed appropriate and all was clean.

It's "The Australia Zoo"!
It is brilliant, memories of Steve are everywhere.
The animal shows are informative as well as entertaining. The museum is awe-inspiring.
Seeing Robert's artwork and buying a piece to take home.
And even purchasing a khaki shirt...lol
There are hands-on interactions.
I saw children and adults of all ages enjoying this beautiful place.
The animal enclosures are amazing.
The walk around the grounds is beautiful in itself, with little lizards freely living and loving life.
The only animals we could not see on the day were the Irwin tortoises, they were very good at hiding.
You won't regret the decision to go.

HUGE!
This is certainly one of the best parks in Australia.
Everything is very well conserved, the animal's hair is treated better than that of many women out there (sorry girls).
Everything clean, and very organized.
The coffee is good, restaurant is great as well and staff is really friendly.
The only thing I missed was cold water to drink along the park. But you can grab ice from the coke machines in the restaurant.
Besides that, everything was simply perfect in the minimal details (almost like Disney).

Every year, I visit and seeing the upgrades makes it worthwhile. Be ready to walk a lot because the zoo is huge and requires a lot of water. The heat and humidity can still be tense even when the weather is cloudy, so pace yourself and you will be fine.

Very clean zoo. Plenty to see. Nice accommodation for shopping at souvenirs shop. Wear comfortable walking shoes. Nice walking trails. Provides bus rides inside to some areas. Food selection average. Beautiful animals. Ticket prices reasonable. One of the largest zoo I have visited.

Wonderful scenery all around the Zoo.
Many places to fill your water bottle plus loads of vending machines for drinks, no cash taken though.
Easy to walk through and find everything although more shaded areas would have been nice.
The crocodile show was the highlight of the day, got to see some amazing and well trained birds and Robert Irwin feed a massive croc!
Huge amount of animals from all across the world.
Gift shop is surprisingly well priced with t shirts being only $50 and hats $35.
Overall wonderful day out, definitely worth the ticket price.

A great family day! So many animals to see, interesting keeper talks, the Wildlife Warriors crocodile show is great, jumping pillow for the kids to have a break, lots of seats and shady spots for a sunny day, and more. Bring swimmers for the kids, and some frozen water bottles for a hot day. Highly recommended.

There are no words to describe this place. It was so much more than we expected. Amazing staff from when we entered until we left. The shows were so good and enjoyable. The facilities were all clean and extremely well maintained. The animals looked so good, and nothing was out of place. Well done !!

Seen a lot of negative reviews about this place and I really don’t understand them. This place is the greatest zoo I have ever visited. It is huge and there is so much room for the animals to enjoy themselves whilst being protected from an unsafe environment. The keepers take really great care of each animal here and that is what matters! A lot of people have complained about how Steve’s legacy is being impacted negatively but I think the Irwin’s have done a fantastic job of continuing Steve’s mission. A lot of people don’t understand that the money we spend at the zoo goes towards protecting wildlife, and the negative reviews show that. It is better to think about what the Irwin’s are doing and how the zoo works to protect animals rather than thinking about the negatives. Purchasing tickets beforehand is a great idea to save the wait and for transport, a bus service is a great inexpensive way for again save time. The croc show was awesome and it was nice to be able to sit with the kangaroos and feed them. Again, this place is fantastic for education and is a wonderful place to visit.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What an amazing place to experience.
From the lovely staff who scanned our tickets, to the zoo keepers who were so friendly and answered any question, to the friendly staff at Crikey Cafe. This zoo is exceptional, we were in awe from our first animal viewing of the Giraffes. Then it kept getting better. We were fortunate to watch the Tiger show, Otter show and the Crocodile show. These shows weren't animals being trained and doing tricks, it was to see how they behave in their natural habitat. We were so relieved, and watched on in wonderment.
Crikey Cafe was better than what I read in reviews. The salad wrap, cheeseburger and coffees were all good and reasonably priced.
Our best part was watching Robert Irwin and Nero show us what "not to do with crocodiles". It was so great to watch them with Charlie the Croc, and the love they have for them. Definitely gave me an appreciation for crocodiles 🐊
A big plus was finding the Irwin Turtle in his huge habitat. He's so cute and tiny😍
This zoo is ethical, with large habitats for all the animals, plus time away from public viewing to prevent them becoming stressed. You can truly see that all the animals are healthy, happy and loved. A zoo not to be missed.
Well done to the Irwin family ❤
