Rústico At Hay Shed Hill

My favourite meal in Margaret River. We did the five course degustation menu, and it was delicious. The atmosphere and the setting were stunning and the service was amazing. I am pregnant and my friend cannot eat gluten, but they made seamless changes to some of the courses where necessary. They had a great selection of mocktails for the non drinkers and I particularly enjoyed the virgin sangria. I am reliable informed that the wines were also delicious. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful long lazy lunch Rustico yesterday. It was busy but the vibe was relaxed and special. The food was delicious - tasty morsels of goodness and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Took some photos but missed a course - too greedy! Wine and cocktails on point. We can’t wait to go back 😊

The most delightful meal!

We had our family visiting from overseas and wanted to treat them to a nice meal from the South West. We were served by Chris, who was the most helpful, attentive & knowledgeable staff. He helped us to pick beautiful wines and the service was impeccable, going above and beyond to accomodate us.

Ofcourse, the food itself was incredible!!My family described it as their 'soul left the body and came back several times'.

Would highly recommend and will most certainly be back!

The only way to describe our entire experience is… WOW.
Out of this world, from the outlay of the venue, the beautiful location, the recommendations and organisation of the staff and not to mention food that was to absolutely die for.
We recently got married at Rústico hayshed hill and mark my words; it was the most amazing ceremony and reception my wife and I could have ever imagined. Our event planner Nat is without a doubt the most helpful and beautiful woman who genuinely felt like our family, the way everything flowed was phenomenal and made our planning quite easy.
We do not plan on getting married again however we would do it here over and over again. Recommend 10/10!! Xx

We have been many times and always find an excuse to take our friends when they are visiting. Without a doubt the food is always top quality as well as the service and view. Today we had the Christmas menu which did not disappoint. Another masterpiece! We would like to thank Sophie who went above and beyond for the whole group. No matter where they had wandered off to.

Exceptional Dining Experience

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rustico’s Margaret River, and I can't say enough about the incredible food and impeccable service. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff, and the ambiance was elegant and inviting.

The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, the degustation menu and premium wine selection you cannot go past.

What truly set this dining experience apart was the exceptional service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. They provided helpful recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.

The wine selection was extensive, and the sommelier's expertise was evident as they paired the perfect wine with our meals.

Overall, my experience Rustico’s was nothing short of outstanding. The combination of exquisite food, superb service, and a charming atmosphere makes it a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining. I can't wait to return and explore more of their culinary offerings.

Edit December 2023: now been approx 5 times to Rustico at Hay Shed Hill.

Usually for the degustation, which is truly outstanding. This time for the Xmas feast on Xmas eve.

A busy restaurant and yet the service was excellent. The food just as good. Once again, Rustico delivers the goods.

And I know we will be back.

We went to rustico on my birthday and it was such a beautiful experience! We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 course degustation and our tummy's were so happy along with yummy champagne 🍾 Made my day absolutely!

We did the 5 course degustation menu yesterday with selected add ons as recommended by our lovely waitperson. The food, atmosphere & service were top notch & the staff were wonderful on such a hot day. Menu substitutes were offered with no fuss at all. There is a large range of mocktails & cocktails to choose from with an exceptional Espresso Martini. Super impressed that this winery/restaurant is dog friendly & that Monty was offered a water bowl & Schmako treat on arrival. Go here on your next trip to the Sth West you won't be disappointed.

Our first degustation lunch and certainly not the last, wonderful creative food superbly presented. My wife is vegan and their 5 course menu was superb. Yes portions are not large but that is the style of the whole menu, we left very satisfied and really full! We had a 2.5 hr service which was so relaxing. Our waitress Charlotte was attentive, knowledgeable and all staff were tops! A must do if you're in the region.

We had the most wonderful day at Hay Shed Hill, started with an early tasting with Renzo in the cellar door. His knowledge of the wine and region made it throughly enjoyable and one of my favourite on this trip to the Margaret River.
We then moved onto the terrace for what only can be described as the perfect wine lunch at Rustico. Nothing seemed to be a problem that our waiter Juan couldn’t solve or provide the best service with a warm smile.
The degustation menu was fantastic, perfect portions, all delicious and we were able to swap courses between the standard and vegan if there was something we didn’t like. Some did wine flights, others just ordered drinks from the menu.
With that we ended up staying at Rustico until 3.00pm and skipped the next winery on our list, just soaked up this leisurely fabulous lunch.
Don’t hesitate to come here when in the Margaret River.

What an amazing experience, everything was fabulously tasty and fresh, from the degustation to the cocktails and wine with attentive, but not intrusive, service.
They wished us Happy Anniversary as we sat down and then wrote it in chocolate on our dessert plate! This is somewhere to go for a special occasion where you feel welcome and don't feel underdressed.

It was an amazing experience! We delighted with the degustation course paring with wines and it were incredibly delicious. All staff were great. Chris, our waiter, was amazing and made our experience even more especial. The view was stunning. Everything was perfect! ❤

Wow! What an amazing vineyard and restaurant! If you are looking to treat yourselves while in Margaret River you need to book a degustation lunch (with the wine paring) at Rusticos! Chris provided amazing service and knowledge of the wines and pairings. Yum! I’d go back any day to experience it all over again.

A fantastic long lunch with 5 degustation menu and wine pairing. They even have a menu for my partner who is vegetarian! The wine pairing is very delicious and goes really well with the foods! Chris, our host, was super friendly and knowledgeable and was very happy to answer all the questions about food, wine, and local places! A definite must do degustation lunch if you have a chance!

The Rustico / Hayshed Venue is beautiful, the Degustation was fantastic, the wine was delicious, and the staff were the best part of all. A class offering from Rustico. One of the best things I've done in several visits to Margaret River. 10/10!

We’ve been to Rustico in Rockingham a number of times but wanted to try the Margaret River location. I booked the 5 course degustation and wine pairing to celebrate my partner’s birthday and we had an absolutely fantastic experience. We started with a seated wine tasting at the cellar door and after sharing our love of reds, were treated to some special reserve wines. Renzo knew his wines and made the tasting extra special! The degustation was delicious! All of the courses were beautiful and the service was amazing. A stunning venue, fantastic service, and high quality food and wine. We’ll certainly be back!

5-course (actually 10-course) degustation for $79 makes this a bargain + exceptional when paired with wines from Hay Shed and others. The pork belly was outstanding. The staff were helpful and informative. The view is fabulous. We spent 2+ hours here, can't wait to visit again.

A lovely experience, be prepared to wait between courses though, settle in for 2.5 -3 hrs from start to finish.
