Thompson Estate

We attended Thomson Estate as part of a small organised group and were hosted by Stacey. I'll leave commentary on the wines to experts but Tracey was simply excellent. Her ability to educate on the ways and means of interpretation of the many characters of wine was first rate. I have been to many many tastings but Stacey's skills and enthusiasm for wine education are up with the very best.

I brought a couple of my girlfriends to Thompson Estate last weekend and had the most amazing all-round experience. From wine tasting to learning the in's and out's of the operations of the winery and the winemaking process. Their range of wines are diverse and divine. Mel and Karen at the cellar door were lovely to deal with. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stopped here while on a leisurely drive through the region. We had not heard anything about this winery before and decided to take a look. We found the host very welcoming and enjoyed a tasting. We enjoyed the wine enough to walk away with a case. We will be visiting again

The Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 was given to my wife for her birthday and it was a great glass. We have to give it 5 Stars.

This was such a disappointing experience that I had to hold myself down to see it through, hoping I was making too quick a judgement.
After visiting a couple of well-known wineries, I decided I wanted to get to know about the wines and wine makers of small family-owned vineyards. Thompson came in highly recommended by James Halliday himself.
After calling and making sure, it welcomed visitors, I drove up with my family.
I introduced myself to Karen who was at the Cellar Door, and she did not want to shake my outstretched hand Perhaps, it's just Covid-19, I thought.
I asked a few questions, and tried to make friendly conversation. Truly, as the English might say, she got her knickers twisted. That was the most unfriendly Cellar Door in WA.
Suffice to say, I paid for my tasting and walked off with a terrible impression of Thompson Estate.
The rest of my day, at Ashbrook and Howard Park was amazing.
