I can't resist going through my travel photo albums and reminisce the good time I had before the COVID pandemic.

A group of 12 people including myself spent 3 weeks touring between Melbourne to Central Australia. On the first day, we passed Wycheproof.

The main street was so quiet, no better than during the lockdown. Upon entry to the town, there were big notice boards, displaying the history of the town, and the interesting event about the "King of the Mountain, Race of Endurance".

Equality? Definitely not. In the past, there was an event that lasted for 11 years, known as The King of the Mountain race which "... required men and women of great endurance. Men lumped a bag of wheat and women a bag of foam, 1 kilometre to the top of Mount Wycheproof."

Mount Wycheproof is the smallest mountain in the world. Its elevation 148 metres, but stands at 43 metres above the surrounding terrain, I wonder it is in the Guinness Book of Records..

It deserves a good giggle, because the so called Mount Wycheproof is nothing more than a "molehill". I wonder the idiom "Making a mountain out of a molehill" originated here.

There were no midgets or dwarfs on top of this small mountain, but an iron spherical sculpture with interconnecting framed surface, supported on a stand of similar design with the name Wycheproof.

As we descended from the "mountain", there was a rest pavilion, and toilet facility. This was the first time I learnt about the words "Long Drop Toilet". It did have a toilet seat, more advanced than the squatting type.

Love this little town and the smallest mountain in Australia. Be sure to check out the lookout and centenary park.

This mountain is proof that small things can also be enjoyable! Absolutely loved it! Little sculpture of huge rail nails and the tiny view of the fields were great too. Moral... Don't judge things for being small

While large hills are generally my preference, there is something charming about this pathetically tiny hill. Nothing is comparable to the little hill that could.
