Visited on the eve. Black Pearl was the only place that was open among the bars I wanted to visit.

Literally I was so thankful as I wanted to go out somewhere closer to where I live. This bar made my day. Thank you :)

My favourite cocktail bar in Fitzroy - they do a mean martini. Great place for a date night or cocktails with friends

A Melbourne institution. Exquisite cocktails (I had custom martini and Negroni). Fantastic service. Great ambience and tunes. I shouldn't have had the second Negroni tho... one too many. It was just too tasty! lol

I’ve been here twice now and all the bar staff I have interacted with are incredible. They will find you the perfect drink, based on the dinner you just ate or your current mood. Unbelievable knowledge and service. Next level. On top of that they constantly bring you iced water and keep you up in the loop about when you will be served. Great atmosphere and tunes. I’ve never had a bad experience that’s been comparable. 🙏👌🫶

A wonderful bar with nice atmosphere and music.., also bartender make the best cocktail taste really good, price is reasonable too. I would love to come here again! 6 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Making it to the 50 BestBars in the world in 2017 - 2018, you know why when you visit this bar.

We chose to enjoy our evening in the Attic section, and the menu is quite different from the Black Pearl downstairs....nevertheless great!

What else would you need for a splendid evening other than a beautiful ambience, good vibes and excellent drinks ......And of course, each other for a company.

Atmosphere was great, drinks were great, service was amazing.

Fantastic cocktails! We sat upstairs and received incredible service from the team. I could suggest what sort of drink I wanted (fruity, sweet etc) and they would create cocktails for me that were excellent. The team take pride in what they create and it shows. Great way to try some new drinks - plus they even wrote down how to make them from home for me (without me asking!) Highly recommend.

Enjoyed a pre dinner cocktail. Great service and moody atmosphere. Vespa Martini was fabulous.

Favourite bar on earth, a truly special experience every time. Everything is pure class and the obvious product of passion and love, with top notch staff that set the standard for outstanding service. As for the drinks… From just a few simple words to go off of they’ll whip you up the most exquisite concoction you’ve ever tasted, that’ll actually make you believe in magic for a moment. True artists. Nothing else compares, really. Yet to be proven otherwise 🫶🏻

What a great place to finish your work week. Visiting Melbourne for work from sunny Queensland I was not ready for the cold climate change. Black Pearl staff were more then creative, by making me delicious cocktails that where able to warm me up!! The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great for a relaxed scotch or hot toddy on a Friday evening.

Love this place. Fitzroy institution that keeps on keeping on. The drinks are always special and staff friendly and professional. Doesn’t disappoint whether full with a Saturday night crowd or when there’s just me enjoying a Martini quietly at the bar midweek. Thank you for your service.

Quite busy for a cocktail bar but that came with an excellent atmosphere. The staff were friendly and energetic, and had excellent cocktail knowledge. They were able to give recommendations for spirit pairings and cocktails -- all of which were excellent.

The rail spirits are all of high quality, but the prices are still fair at about $24 a cocktail. A lot of bars would charge $28+ for a drink with the same level of ingredients.

Overall we would highly recommend this bar to a friend and look forward to coming back in the future!
