Richmond Lighting

I'm not one to leave reviews, however after feeling so dejected after travelling to all corners of Melbourne to look at light shops and only finding 1 or 2 options it was such a relief to find Richmond lighting and it really left an impression.

I had Chris as my consultant who was brilliant and offered up a multitude of options no matter how obscure my request was that represented all price points, he was more than happy to offer value saving options when it made sense, and was also across the designer options for the statement pieces.

I was renovating my entire house at the time which comes with a lot of stress, I'm very particular, and lighting in a home is something I hold very dearly, and I desperately didn't want the only option to be 'buy a bunch of lamps after the fact', so to be able to incorporate wall sconces and pendants throughout, while also some very deliberate task and art lighting for a reasonable sum and minimal mental energy was a delight.

Couldn't recommend Richmond Lighting more highly.

I had Brett as my lighting consultant and I cannot thank him enough! He is passionate, smart and knows what he's doing!

He is so highly experienced with so much specialist expertise. He carefully measured out all the lights and ensured they fit my plans for my new house. I purcahsed all in all about 13 lights. He helped me with some mockups to ensure the lights would work within the space and style and even drew up the lighting placement to scale on my plans. I let them do all my lighting because they could be trusted with my complicated interior design style and he knew how to work it in with builders.

He took the time, care and professionalism to help me get it right!

I am not the creative type so having someone like Brett guide me was invaluable. He even gave me advise with my overall interior design to ensure the lights worked with my colour selections for my new build and the furniture that i will purchase.

I have visited almost all the main Melbourne lighting stores and Richmond Lighting was the only one that really took the time to get to know what I was specifically after and ensured all my light purchases worked with my style and also that they were cohesive and tied together. When i would ask technical questions at other lighting stores, they would give me very vague or wouldnt be able to answer my question. Brett was able to address all of my concerns with confidence and practical know-how.

With one tricky area, Brett suggested a custom light to ensure I would get the perfect look. He wont settle for something mediocre or something thats an easy sell. He will do his best to ensure you love the look and that it makes sense from his decades of experience as an interior designer and lighting specialist.

To top it off, they have access to lots of top brands from overseas that you cant find in most lighting stores and online in Australia and the prices are reasonable.

I found that I got expertise, unique lights that matched my home perfectly and the price was right and within budget!

Its hard finding people in the industry who care and know what they are doing. So Richmond lighting and Brett really deserve all the credit and praise!

7/5/2021 - my second review. A year on from our build, Jane followed up and fixed a minor issue. Yes we were very picky but such a pro, Jane sent us the replacement lights and made sure we were ok. I don’t even understand why she did it. after all this time because quite frankly, we probably would have just lived with it. But she wanted to make sure the her product was 100% satisfactory. I wish everyone was like Jane and just did what they said they would do.

Highly recommend this store. So much more than a shop that sells lights. Brett was amazing and went above and beyond to help me with lighting for our dream home! Super greatful.

We tried to return a defective light. The manager fought tooth and nail to prevent us exercising our statutory rights. Beware, they want your cash and offer nothing in return.
