The Hainanese chicken was superb, smooth and perfectly cooked. The curry sauce that accompanied the roti canai was sooo good, thick and creamy and well balanced flavour. Curry puffs were so good that daughter ordered more to takeaway. The ginger beef hor fun were so silky and the beef is so tender and has delightful chunks of young ginger!. CKT was gobbled up real fast. Curry laksa hit the spot. And finished off with ice kacang. Serving size was generous, good value and we were all groaning by the time we finished.
The restaurant was very busy but the service were fast and friendly.
Daughter and bf were stoked that they do Uber Eats and they will definitely be ordering more food.
Sorry, forgot to take photos as everyone were quick to dig in.

My Grampa used to come here in the 80s. I came back to try after being overseas for a number of years and it's still just as good as I remember. I love the char Kuey teow and hor fun. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone as my favourite Malaysian restaurant in Melbourne.

Had a craving for some Malaysian cuisine. We ordered the entré special, hainanese chicken, curry laksa and ice kacang. All of it was marvellous and we'll be back as soon as we can. It was worth the travel across melbourne to get here and enjoy this restaurant. Check it out super tasty. And very reasonably priced.

One of my favourite Malaysian Restaurants in Melbourne. Malaymas is a family run business serving delicious and authentic Malaysian food. Malaymas is a cozy little restaurant with lovely vibe, and friendly service.
What we got:
🍴 Fried Chicken Wings
🍴 Special Fried Veg Balls
🍴 Hainanese Style Chicken
🍴 Fried Kuey Teow
🍴 Roti with Beef Rendang
🍴 Combination Hor Fun
🍴 Hokkien Mee
🥤 Teh Ais
Malaymas have the cute teddy Teh Terik!!! I couldn't resist not getting it haha and it was definitely the best choice. Love the strong tea flavour, not too sweet as well. Definitely recommend booking in advance and pre-ordering their Hainanee Style Chicken because it is so popular. Chicken is so soft and tender, very juicy. Beef Rendang is also a must order - beef is slow cooked so super soft.. I could have more than 2-3 bowls of rice with the hainanese chicken and beef rendang. My favorite dishes at Malaymas!!! Also love their Fried Kuey Teow - Prawns are big and very flavoursome with "wok hey"!

We don't normally travel across Melbourne city just to dine at a restaurant but Malaymas is definitely one of our exceptions.
Everything we had there was delicious and packed with authentic flavors. I highly recommend their curry laksa (we had the fish ball one), fried chicken wings, curry puffs, Hainanese chicken rice and don't forget their ice kacang!!
To top it off, they have a wonderful cast of responsive, friendly and efficient staff members. We were looked after really well and felt like home.
Thank you!

An amazing version of Nasi Lemak. Not spicy, but still absolutely beautiful. The meal was above average size for price, stuck to the Chinese version of the meal. No pickled veggies. Entrees were prompt, reasonably sized and delicious.
The special rice (vegetarian) was huge and very tasty. Service was prompt and friendly.
Definitely going back again.

This is an upmarket fast food place. So, really, it's never going to get 5 stars for service or atmosphere, but the food is very, very good. At least the dishes I've had. Actually, while I've been coming here for years (and mourn that they dropped the lunch service) I stick to my favourites, seafood laksa, and hainesse chicken rice. The best!

Great family Malaysian food joint in suburb not usually filled with asians, nicely BBQ satay with delicious peanut sauce, the hainanese chicken rice is very good, chicken was not over done and very juicy and tasty, the chicken rice was plump and chilli is nice, definitely one of better chicken rice place in Melbourne. The Har Mee is very good and highly recommended for someone who is not really into prawn noodle, this was surprisingly good, the prawn soup was very good and not very salty indicating hours spent on boiling the prawn stock. Noodles, prawns, pork meat were very fresh and well cooked. Recommend a visit, great place that the cuisine is not customized to Caucasians, with authenticity respect to asian cuisine. Owner, chef and Jimmy family will give great service, food and ambience.

This restaurant is the best restaurant in Melbourne.Period.
I have tasted everything on this menu and each dish is so so so flavourful and tasty and I just can’t get enough. Been coming here for a while and will continue to come here for as long as they will have me. Love this place!

Got takeout from here after being recommended it and it being in our neighbourhood. For the fishball Laksa ant it was superb! Loads of flavour in the broth and they gave free sambal when I asked for it (which tasted really authentic). Quick and efficient service and a decent price at 17 dollars.

Always a delicious authentic Malaysian meal at Malaymas
1. Ais kacang (shaved ice with peanuts, red beans etc) was impressive as always from both taste and presentation. Easily one of the better ones outside Malaysia ☺
2. Hainanese chicken rice was cooked just right - not over nor under. Silky smooth ooohhhh 😋😋 And the sambal ikan bilis (anchovies) is soooo sedap/delish
3. Wat tan hor (flat rice noodles with egg gravy) has got good wok-hei (charred well).
Very happy that we re-visited and won’t hesitate to go back anytime ❤

A well family run Malaysian restaurant. Service was super friendly and professional. The food was great and authentic. This place is packed so be sure to make a booking if you come in a pack. Satay chicken skewers were delicious! I tried their nasi lemak with curry chicken, milk tea and a couple of fried noodle dishes - has what Uncle Roger claims “wok hei”. Though, I would have preferred the curry chicken to be boneless and thighs. If you love Malaysian, you wouldn’t want to miss this place

I constantly crave their infamous curry laksa !! Their family owned restaurant and staff really create the most friendly dining experience.

How often do you close your eyes while your eating? Malaymas is an outrageous restaurant, it simply shouldn’t exist; the food is authentic, cheap and full of love. It shouldn’t exist but, I’m certainly glad it does.
Tonight I took my house mate and friend for the first time. You know a place is great when you get that very specific type of excitement only associated with taking someone somewhere that’s going to blow my mind. I didn’t mean to blow their minds but I did - I’m writing this from the police station.
My personal favourites; Beef rendang and Hainanese Chicken. Both theses dishes will leave you grinning.
Lastly the thing you’re all dying to know. The toilets are so fresh and so clean, all the cute south East Asian charms you’ve come to expect and healthy lighting for those of you on a date.
This place deserves 7 stars.

We loved the food and will be back for sure. This is my favourite Malaysian restaurant. The ice kacang was nice too as was the lychee drink. And the service was friendly, warm and efficient.

Missing or craving Malaysian food? This place will NOT disappoint! From their teh tarik to ice kacang, anything in between will bring you to Malaysia.
Have been visiting this place since 2 years ago and their food quality has always remain top notch. Will definitely recommend!
