Don’t let the calm exterior lull you into a false sense of security. Upon entering Supermaxi you’re greeted by a hive of activity with corks popping, people laughing and good times being had by all.

I had a place at the bar...would thoroughly recommend as it lets you survey the action. Cocktails are on point...try Giovanni’s dirty martini with special gin. It was a cracker as is the service. The staff are exceptional and breeze through service in an engaging and effortless way.

I wanted everything on the menu, but the veal caught my eye and I’m a traditionalist with its preparation. I wasn’t disappointed.

I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. It was a wonderful first evening back in Melbourne after many years and didn’t disappoint.

Cool minimalist, open decor. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great pizzas and starters. Top-notch limoncello. Overall good vibes and excellent eating.

Today’s special and dessert were really on point! Simple but yummy!

I was skeptical that the pizza could be better than Primo but it might be, by a whisker. Omg it's great: light thin crust, succulent well seasoned topping, good sauce and no floppy sloppy centre. We had entrees of buttery deep fried cauliflower and the calamari. Perfect. I don't get why people say its expensive. Pizza are the standard price or even a bit cheaper. Drinks like Campari are surprisingly cheap. I love the food. I love the place.

Food here is great and the staff are equally good. A local gem.

If you aren’t popping in here on a Tuesday night for the great service and even better food, you should be. In fact don’t. I want this place all to ourselves. Bellissimo!

Shut the front door! Why haven't I been here before? Simply delightful, casual, friendly, comfortable and I hadn't even looked at a menu yet. I knew this place was going to be good, you just get a sense when you walk in. Food is traditional, enjoyable, asymmetrical, the pizza wasn't perfectly round but it was perfectly cooked and crafted. Reminded of Nonna's house without the smell of mothballs, no frills but honest food done amazingly well. This will be my new regular

Whenever you have the owners of a restaurant at the front end and in the kitchen you know that there will be attention to detail and such as the case here with Giovanni orchestrating everything up front and his better half in the kitchen doing the magic on the food side.
They don't need this review because they are always busy and have regular clients that keep coming back.
If there is one thing I love about this place is that it is unpretentious. Beautiful honest food and friendly top class service all the time.
How many times have you invited some one out to a place that was good a month ago only to find a different chef and things not so great.

Doesn't matter whether you go on a rainy Wednesday night or a hot Saturday night or Mother's day or Father's day. Same high quality and same top service.

Came to Supermaxi for dinner with friends and had a beautiful meal. Hard to fault really! The only thing that could have been better is the service as it was sometimes hard to get the waiters attention!
To start we had the crumbed mozzarella with olive tapenade which was super delish. For mains we couldn’t decide between pizza and pasta so we got both! The pizza and pasta dishes were both excellent! However, the real highlight of the meal was dessert! The desserts all sounded so good so we got the tiramisu, the chocolate panna cotta with raspberry sorbet, the pavlova roulade with berries, and the fried custard with ice cream. Whilst they were all divine, our favourites were the pavlova and fried custard. Would definitely recommend Supermaxi to people looking to have a relaxed but memorable dinner with delightful food and wine!

I had friends over my place for dinner. I picked up my order, it was fresh and tasty. A perfect way to enjoy a Saturday night a home. 100% only getting pizza from here!

Great Italian restaurant in the North Fitzroy area. Tried their Pizza of the day, Fried mozzarella sticks and the Prawn Linguini, all very yummy! Make sure you ask for chillies to put in the pizza and pasta, as the heat makes the flavors pop! 😊 Bookings are a must as this restaurant is busy!

One of the last real family restaurants! Extremely friendly service and very accommodating. Truly simple Italian fair. The food is great and everybody has a smile. They always have time to ask how you are and your family. I’ve been meaning to review Supermaxi for years. However, I don’t want it to be too busy so that I can’t get a table. My whole family loves this place. Where would Fridays be without Supermaxi. Speak to Giovanni he’ll definitely help you out.

Like having dinner with old mates, but in a good way. Excellent food - not your average Italian - and a great wine list with some terrific digestives to choose from.

Most likely the best pizza that I have ever had!! great service. I had the nougat semifreddo for desert which was lovely. cant wait to go back and try the house-made pasta next time.

SuperMaxi is still going strong. Expect great service. They are all funny attentive and make for a great experience. Pizzas and awesome and the rest of the menu is great. I love the seafood linguini. We love you SuperMaxi.

Supermaxi has been our family go-to absolute favorite restaurant in Melbourne’s north for many years now. We have traveled a lot of Italy, north and south, and we have never had pizza as good as it comes at Supermaxi. Even been to the birthplace of pizza in Napoli and it doesn’t rate as as excellent Supermaxi’s. Giovanni and Rita are a fabulous duo who run the place, and their staff are savvy, fun, and attentive. Brilliant food and dining experience.

Everything here was perfect! Pizza, antipasto, meatballs and wine. I was in heaven with every bite. Staff were super lovely and attentive. Will definitely be back. This is a gem.

Love it. Super to the max. Food is divine and service is friendly and professional. I enjoy a seat at the bar with my friend, the atmosphere, the calamari and basically anything else from the menu. Never disappoints.

Great authentic italian food. Friendly staff with warmth towards all who enter. They have a wonderful speciality of pizzas. I love their version of italian pavola for a dessert. They will do multi caldo coffee if asked.
