Four Doors Studios

I recorded my first EP with Simon at Four Doors Studio and was really impressed with his professionalism and I loved the final product! Simon took the time to listen to the musicians and songs I had listed as influences and he was able to capture exactly the style and sound I wanted for my songs. Simon helped me work through the creative process and his suggestions for vocal harmonies and arrangements took my recordings to a whole new level. Simon was patient and meticulous in getting the songs exactly how I wanted them. He did not cut corners and really listened when I described the sound I was going for with each song. Simon also offered his services as a musician, playing guitar and piano on some of my tracks! Simon's recording sessions are also really well priced! I am already planning my next recording session with Simon. He comes highly recommended!

I have the pleasure of knowing Simon Paparo for almost 20years when he was residing in Sydney, We had been collaborating and playing music for a many years before he's move to Melbourne.. My experience with Simon to release my debut album was exceptional. Recording my album in my own studio in Sydney was a challenge in its self, so having the 10 tracks recorded thinking yes!, the record
is done and good to go, where to next!, whats my next move!. I called up my good friend Simon it was the best thing id did to chat to Simon about how to release this album! .. we had a long conversation about the steps we needed to take to get the record sounding right before its release Simon was getting into depth into the technical side of things , stuff I never knew or heard of before stuff that was way over my head he knew my sound and what i was after from our past jam sessions back in Sydney so to ask Simon to guide me through this project was a no brainer. The process of sending the tracks over to Simon was simple and easy so when Simon was listening to the tracks I had sent out to him, he pointed out a few things that I needed to adjust to make it sound better .. so it was back to the drawing board for me to listen and re record some songs on the album .. absolutely Brilliant advice not only did Simon have the time and patience with me he explained the ins and outs for recording also living in different states was quite easy ... Simon has come a long way from our jam sessions till now with his sound engineering expertise .. Simon has a versatile range of genres in music so you could virtually play/record hard rock,metal,alternative,indie,folk ,country and he would understand it. There was one particular track on the album that I needed some lead guitar and I asked if he could feature on it and Simon was excited and up for the challenge and I must say .. whoa!! sensation to my ears . Now the the album is done and dusted I'm know looking forward to the next full length LP and I know who to call to guide me through that next process and by then I know for sure Simon will bring out a bigger sounding record with me in his well equipped sounding studio .. thank you Simon Paparo at foor doors studios (Nick Kiveaux)

I have recorded with Simon twice now and had such a wonderful experience each time. Simon is super lovely, patient and knowledgeable. Having never recorded before he guided me through the whole process and even gave me a list of things to consider before I got into the studio (such as tempo of the songs and whether I wanted to record them live or layered, what I was intending to use the songs for etc.a lot of things I hadn't even considered). Simon has such a great ear and I really appreciated his honest feedback, there were a couple of times when he would tell me 'I think you can do this better' and he was right. The first time I recorded solo (me on guitar and vocals) and did a couple of live tracks and the second time I recorded with my bandmate and we also did a couple of live tracks with acoustic, banjo and vocals. ( I prefer recording live) but Simon is very adaptable and is happy to take what ever approach you are comfortable with. Simon is a really talented musician and recorded his own album (which is AMAZING) in this very studio, doing most of the parts himself. Its one of those albums you hear and think its only a matter of time before this is all over the radio. Overall would definitely recommend four doors studio, its so special to be able to let all those songs you've been mucking around on in the lounge room finally come to life. You won't be disappointed!!

I recorded with Simon at Four Doors Studios on three occasions for various projects. We recorded vocals, drums (acoustic) and guitar (acoustic and electric).
I was really happy with the results and the process involved, Simon is well versed in many musical styles and understands the intricacies of the recording procedure. Being a talented multi instrumentalist and singer himself he has an intimate knowledge of the instruments and how to achieve the best sounds for recoding each.
Simon was really helpful with suggestions for finer points of phrasing and composition and, importantly, didn’t insist on making changes to the vision I had, which others I’ve worked with in the past have.
The studio is well equipped with all the gear needed to make quality recordings and for mixing and mastering. Simon created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere so that I could take my time getting things the way I wanted. I would highly recommend his services for any serious musician.

I engaged Simon's services to record a number of guided meditations to provide clients learning how to meditate. I was daunted by the task of recording my own voice for others to listen to (I felt pressure to ensure the recordings left people feeling calm rather than agitated given they are designed to assist ppl to cultivate mindfulness) but Simon and his team put me at ease. Simon was patient and happy to re- record when I stumbled over my words and even helped me to fine tune some of my scripts in order to improve the meditation instructions. The outcome - 10 guided meditations that I can provide to clients on my mindfulness workshops and courses. I struggle w new technologies so I appreciated Simon showing me how to upload the sound files to Dropbox and save onto a USB. Thanks Simon!
