I’m not sure where to start, Steph and Lois and incredible, from the moment I met Steph, I felt so safe and understood. She made the entire process, (pre and post Covid) so smooth and wonderful!
My dress was incredible, it was handmade perfectly to suit my shape and frame and I have never felt more beautiful! What a perfect experience and I would recommend ByKinsman to absolutely anyone 🩷 I feel so lucky to have found Steph and Lois to make my wedding dress! Thank you, so much!

I had an incredible experience with By Kinsman from day 1. Stepping into the lovely Hawthorn studio, I met Steph, who designs and makes everything herself in Melbourne.
I had visited a couple of other dressmakers/suppliers beforehand and most of them felt a bit mass-produced, whereas By Kinsman was a completely personalised experience. I ended up getting not one, but two wedding dresses from By Kinsman (for two very different ceremonies). Steph did the alterations and I was completely confident in her abilities. I had a change of mind on the top design of one of the dresses, and she brought the new vision to life perfectly. I got the dresses back with plenty of time to spare, and fitting like a glove. Meanwhile, I was seeing nightmare stories from brides who had ordered their dresses from other stores but not received them within the last few weeks before their weddings.
I really couldn't recommend By Kinsman highly enough for a wedding dress made exactly to your style and size by such a lovely, fun person.

Steph created custom sleeves and did the alterations for my bridal gown. From the first appointment she was gracious, knowledgeable and so passionate about her craft. She understood my vision and her attention to detail was next level. I’d highly recommend Steph to anyone for gowns, additions and alterations!

Steph created my absolute dream custom wedding dress for me and was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Steph has made me the most beautiful dress for me for my daughter’s wedding. After our first consultation, she designed and made the dress which is so lovely and flattering. She and Lois were spectacular from start to finish. Such a talented team, with incredible attention to detail and professionalism. Steph was absolutely amazing to work with! She designed the most spectacular wedding veil for me & I received so many comments on how beautiful it was. She also altered my wedding dress & made me feel so great on my wedding day. She was always so helpful & thoughtful throughout the whole experience & made me feel really special & comfortable. Steph created two bespoke gowns for me on two separate occasions and I honestly cannot recommend her and her business enough. The attention the detail, quality of fabric and overall experience from start to the finish was beyond impressive. Steph instantly made me feel relaxed, listened to what I really wanted and liked, and created two equally beautiful pieces that completely flattered my body shape and more importantly, were extremely comfortable to wear. Two weeks ago, we has problems with our dressmaker. We were hysterical, beside ourselves. Steph and Lois told us to come straight down. In two weeks they performed absolute miracles!!!!! Made my daughter the singularly most stunning dress, exactly what she has dreamed of!!! We were in a desperate position and Steph could have taken advantage of the situation to charge us extra. But she has so much integrity and did not use our situation to her advantage. Steph and Lois put their hearts and souls into the dress and literally saved us. They are absolute artists. I have two more girls and I can't wait to go back for their dresses when the time comes. Ladies, look no further!!!!! By Kinsman is synonymous with stunning perfection delivered with passion!!!!!

After many difficult and uncomfortable wedding dress shopping trips, I knew I was in the right place when I walked into Steph's studio! From the moment of our first communication she helped me feel at ease and made the entire process easy, exciting and most of all helped me feel confident and comfortable! From it's inception, she basically read my mind and created a dress that was more ME than I could have ever imagined! I can and do recommend Steph to anyone looking for the perfect dress for you! Despite COVID messing up fitting appointments and a change in wedding dates, Steph somehow made it not stressful and was so accommodating.

If I could leave 6 stars i would! Steph's created 3 custom pieces for me and everything from the initial concept sketch, to sourcing the perfect fabric, the fittings and the end results have been nothing but an absolute dream. Steph is one of those rare people who listen and puts herself in your shoes to create the most bespoke garment that not only looks good but feels good too. Her attention to detail, calm demeanour and gorgeous studio are all but some of the reasons why I & many of my friends, keep going back for more. Everyone needs a ByKinsman piece in their wardrobe x

ByKinsman has just made me the most beautiful and perfectly 'me' wedding dress. Steph made the whole process one of the most relaxed, enjoyable and exciting parts of my day. Her incredible talent, amazing ideas, concepts and eye for detail make the partnership in creating your gown a joy. It was amazing to watch my dress evolve organically with so many "yes that's perfect" moments, and down to the smallest of details it's all with 'you' in mind. I did let my nerves get the better of me at one point, but Steph was so approachable, communicated everything so clearly and was so reassuring, that I quickly realised I had nothing to worry about and I was in amazing hands - and of course everything was fine. I can't recommend ByKinsman enough. Steph, I can't speak highly enough of you and I can't wait to show off what you've created for me.

Steph and the team at By Kinsman are so great at what they do. I have had 3 custom garments designed and handmade by Steph, two tops and a dress. I love all of them! The dress was my most recent purchase to wear for my birthday and I couldn’t be happier with it! The service, attention and care I receive is always outstanding.
