Brighton Were Street Fish Supply

So, so glad I walked past here today. Coming from England, I crave proper hand-cut chips and surprisingly this place does them! Hallelujah! Deciding to come back at dinnertime, I ordered two flake and chips over the phone for myself and my partner before going to pick up. Yes - they take card. Yes - the guy who served me was genuinely friendly. And most importantly, yes - it was the best fish & chips I’ve had in 7 years of living in Australia.

Completed a house sit in the area and had dinner here twice ( take away ) they were the best I had tied in years. I had the flake potato cakes and chips.

The fish and chips here is exactly how it should be done! I grew up on the Mornington Peninsula and we were spoilt for choice with great fish and chips, but this one comes pretty damn close

Hand made potato cakes here are the best in the bayside area. They usually throw a few extras in for no charge. Their grilled flake in batter is exceptional also.

Good old fashioned fish n chips, nothing fancy here, even the menu board and decor is from the era of 7 digit phone numbers in Melbourne, these are the kind of fish n chips you picked up on your way home from school as an afternoon snack. Generous servings of chips and potato cakes and great service even so close to closing time.

My local for over ten years. The fish and chips are always great, well priced, always fine to deal with. I don't understand why some people have complaints, perhaps it's more about them than the shop.

The grilled fish is great not overbattered just lightly flour. So much nicer than my local. I would go here more often if I can.

These guys do the best potato cakes. They pass the most important test: do they still taste good cold for breakfast the next morning?
