The Big Oyster Seafood

I had the privilege of devouring the best value and freshest seafood feast at Port Macquarie. Thank you to the team at the Big Oyster for preparing amazing lobster mornay and fresh oysters. The fresh prawns were also divine. This place is a must stop-off for any Port Macquarie itinerary.

We stopped at his place for a quick lunch a tray of oysters and some fish and chips the fish and chips was fine as expected and was fresh fish oysters were lovely creamy and they had a beautiful setting out the back with tables and washing toilets it’s not a five star restaurant but it’s a really nice place to stop and sit on the water and have some seafood

A must for any sea food lover.
Didn't know you could BYO other food and drinks, but good to know for future visits.

The oysters were delicious. The fish pieces were also equally delicious as were the chips. In fact I think they were the best chips I've tasted. The venue is also quite quirky and there is even a floating dining area on the water to add to the delightful lunch we had. Service was fantastic too.

Best place in Port Macquarie to visit for your seafood fix at a reasonable price! You can dine in and take away as well.

The food was fresh and tasty! We ordered the oysters, prawns, scallop and salt and pepper squid. They've got seating outside for about 30 people on the water, so that you can enjoy your food while getting some fresh air.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming.

They've got seafood produce in the freezers to buy as well.

A nice spot to get a lowkey seafood meal. Price is pretty average (73$ for 2 dozen oysters + 6 scallops). Nothing outstanding with the food, but it was very fresh.
No toilet available when we went.
Feeding (prawn) shells to the pelicans was a cool gimmick however.

Pretty well cooked, not over cooked. Sauce was decent too.

If I could give the prawns 10 stars at this place I would. Super fresh and super yummy tiger prawns. Grabbed our fresh prawns, headed out to the side jetty deck, ate our prawns and feed the prawn heads to the fish. Loved every bit of it. Then went back and grabbed some more prawns to do it all again 😃 Lovely staff too. Grabbed some oysters to go and Wow they were stunning, super fresh. If u are anywhere near this place stop in. 👍👍👍

Delectable prawns and oyster. Very fresh and tasty. Hot food is only served at 11:30 till 2. We ordered Kilpatrick and natural oysters. The natural ones were tastier. The tiger prawns were so juicy. Throw the prawn shells into the water!

Dropped into town for a brief visit and was stunned this place was still there! 27 years ago I used to live a couple of hundred metres up the road and often bought oysters here. I bought a dozen oysters in the shell for breakfast and a jar for the road. Delicious!!!

Nice and relaxing stop. I was on oyster hunting mission and found this place hidden in the middle of nowhere, well kind of, cus I drove past them already and had to turn back around. There is outside area you can sit while enjoying the oysters, that, you will be on a floating dock next to the shop itself. Nice view, parking at the front, could take maybe about 10 cars I think

Enjoyed the Sydney rock oysters and tiger prawns, fresh, sweet and juicy. Lovely sitting out the back in the sun and feeding the fish

Lovely spot, delicious seafood and friendly staff, the fishes and birds waiting for the leftovers from the food is a great fun experience, the view is stunning.

Fresh seafood. Loved the oysters and they were really great value! Best chips with the fish and chips. Nice little location on the water. Definitely recommend. The guys there were incredibly helpful too.

Unbelievably good oysters. The crab was also excellent and the takeaway lobster mornay to cook yourself was better than most I have had in restaurants.

Beautiful seafood lunch. On the covered pontoon at the side of the Big Oyster. Gorgeous day. Fresh prawns, oysters and crab with a side of Kilpatrick and an extra doz oysters just to be sure. Washed down with a few beers. What's not to like
