Submarine HMAS Otway

We stop by here after buying pies from Holbrook Bakery. Picture taking for remembrance on a submarine inland.

The submarine and the surrounding park has a lot of History. A great place for picnic. Absolutely amazing little town .

Very interesting place and makes a great rest stop between Melbourne and Canberra/Sydney. The museum is very cool make sure you pay it a visit. If you love science or engineering you'll love the submarine control room they have in the museum. Looking through a real periscope was super cool as well. 10/10 would recommend.

Another great stop on the Melbourne to Sydney road trip. Nice large well cared for area with lots to see and do even if it is just a brief stop to stretch your legs

We were passing through and I'd heard about the submarine - it was hard to miss😆
I liked how it was a bit interactive; being able to get up and see from the outside deck made it feel like more than just a statue or display.

Just passing through. Interesting history and heritage here in this unique town. Such a privilege and joy to have the opportunity for exploration and discovery in this great country.

The whole town is full of historical history. Holbrook only has 1 main st existing of a small population great stop off the Hume hyw too or from Melbourne to Sydney. Gr8 little plce for stop over or revival & straight bck on to the freeway within 2min.

Great occasion to see a submarine surfacing in rural NSW.. interesting submarine park, even when the museum was closed. Also great and exceptional picnic spot!

On way to Albury NSW, and saw signs advertising this place Holbrook, and it had a picture of the Submarine on it. Was intrigued, as I had never heard about it before. We decided to stop for lunch and have a look. It is a must see place to stop and see, if you are travelling past. Not that far off the highway. Amazing to see and learn about the history of the Submarine, and the town is named after Norman Douglas Holbrook, a British Submariner and VC recipient. The old name for the town, Germantown was changed to Holbrook in 1915. There is so much history here in this town I just did not know. Absolutely amazing little town. Would come back again to see more and stay, to see what else is in the area.

Kids loved stopping here on the way back to Sydney.

Love this place, glad to see the sub is still being maintained plus the extra historic information. Been stopping here on the way to and from Sydney-Melbourne since I was a kid and still do now. Glad to see the town is still getting visitors after the Hume bypassed it.

It is a huge submarine ! Nice place to stop! Park is clean and interactive and can find cafes and toilets.

Nice place to visit on the way to Sydney. A good place to take pics to record the moments spend.

Beautiful place to spend some quality time with family. Can stay there in some heritage hotel. Oviously a gteat place to make a day plan over there.

Fantastic stop off. Kids loved it and enjoyed learning about the history!

It is an excellent piece of Australian Naval history for a ship or 'fish out' of water.
Concessions are available for veterans, pensioners and students.
An onsite cafe is available, which does meals at a great price.

Great place to have a picnic and enjoy the view. But someone parked there sub here.

Stopped to let a friend take photos. So it was good for that. Good toilet block too. Nice grassed area. Plenty of space to park for campervans, and caravans, with easy turn around. No camping at this spot though.

Fantastic place to visit! We had a lot of fun climbing onto the submarine and walking along the top was surreal .
There is a museum but sadly it had just closed when we arrived, due to being a public holiday . Make sure to check the opening time for the museum beforehand .

Such a lovely little spot.my son adored the history.
