Hidden underground Korean pub serving delicious and authentic Korean food. Our favourites were the Korean fried chicken and the chargrilled beef rib fingers 🤤

Very moody vibe, and great spot to catch up with friends for a drink - the mango rice wine cocktail is a MUST!!

Have been back many times, never disappoints! Definitely recommend 👍🏼

This place is a hidden gem I am surprised I have not known this until now. It was comfy and hip and they even have a booth type for bigger groups so you get a different feel. The food here was so amazing, I love everything we ordered including the mango makgeolli which was so perfect with the seafood pancake and spicy seafood. The rice balls roe was perfectly seasoned. Will definitely come back here with friends.

Joomak is a hidden gem! It’s an adventure finding it but once you do, you’ll be shown a world of delicious authentic Korean food. The peach rice wine (makgeoli) was delightful, and the Korean fried chicken was outstanding. They also have these cute booths so it’s a great spot for group dining!

The dining experience was incredibly relaxed and comfortable. The service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was outstanding, delivering both in terms of quality and taste. Overall, a highly recommended spot for those seeking a laid-back atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious cuisine.

The food at Joomak was really good. The dishes are really comforting. The atmosphere was really cosy. It’s located underground so it’s hard to get Internet or reception. We had the army stew and fried chicken and we also had the Korean pancakes. The Korean fried chicken was so crispy and so tender. The servings are very generous. I ended up taking leftovers home and heating it up the next day, and it was still delicious. I would want to come here again.

The food comes out timely, so perfect when you're starving for dinner. Conveniently located close to RMIT, public transport and Melbourne central.

A moody, underground Korean pub that serves up a delicious feast, Joomak is for sure a great restaursnt to take your mates for a Friday night dinner. Located next to RMIT on Swanston St, Joomak provides a great variety of Korean share plates and nibbles to satisy any craving! It was a great, intimate restaurant that I loved the experience of going to. The tteokbokki was full of flavour, the KFC was crispy and the cheese pull from the corn cheese was so mesmerising!

Everything we had was delicious, especially the Korean fried chicken and chargrilled beef rib fingers. The meat was tender and juicy, and the portions were generous. The kimchi stew with pork was my absolute favourite; it was quite spicy but made it appetising and comforting.

With private booths, wooden interiors, and an extensive menu, it’s the perfect place to hang out with your buddies late at night! Highly recommended!

Authentic Korean vibes in this cosy basement restaurant. Everything we tried was delicious, but the standout was the kimchi + squid pancake

Discover a hidden gem beneath Swanston Street in Melbourne – an authentic underground Korean restaurant with private booths and warm wooden interiors. We started with their famous half-and-half chicken, crispy and juicy with a sweet-spicy kick. Next up, the char-grilled beef ribs fingers delighted with their chewy tenderness and sweet marinade. A highlight was the cheese egg roll with fish roe – rich and cheesy, a cheese lover's dream. We couldn't resist the kimchi stew with pork, a tangy and succulent delight. And don't miss the newly launched Bingsu for a refreshing treat – chewy mochi rice cakes perfect for beating the heat!

Even though this spot is hidden, it definitely can get busy. The seafood pancake was so delicious as it came out fresh and the cheese egg roll had roe in it, which made it so tasty! We also really enjoyed the mango makgeolli. Each table/booth had a button which you can press if you need help from the staff which was convenient. Would be a good spot for date night or with a group of friends!

Joomak is a cool authentic Korean restaurant hidden underground next to Melbourne Central!!

What we ordered:
* Beef Bulgogi $35 - heartwarming dish, so generous with the meat, a must have in melbourne’s temperamental cold weather
* Kimchi pancake $20 - did you even have Korean food if you didn’t order a kimchi pancake?
* Korean fried chicken - sweet and spicy $38 - great platter to share with your friends and family, and the chicken is tender and juicy pairing well with the pickles and jalapeños provided
* Tteokbokki $15 - another must order for me whenever I have Korean food, I cannot go without it every time I eat Korean food
* Corn cheese $12 - classic favourite and a staple side dish to cancel out all that spicy food hehe
* Kimchi pork stew $20 - again, such a great portion for its sizing with generous amount of meat. This and rice is just the combo that makes your heart feel warm
* Cool peace peach drink $3
* Milkis $3

Great place for dates and small groups. The restaurant is kinda hard to spot from outside. You have to walk in and go down the stairs. Joomak has a cute Polaroid photo wall that gives it a very unique charm.

The food is very good. You can find your typical pocha style dishes.

Staff are very attentive and friendly and check in on how your meal is.
