In Avoca today we called in for a quick meal at the Home Made Café in the main street. It was lunchtime and the place was jumping. We found the service excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. All the meals we ordered were just excellent and we would return. Well done to the team!!!

Loved Avoca's Home Made Cafe. Staff were super friendly and highly skilled at making a GREAT coffee. Staff so very friendly that they humoured Mr 10 who asked for a ham and chicken sandwich without a blink - yet I was still picking my shocked chin up off the floor 😅 Highly recommended even if it's a quick stop. Excellent at COVID restrictions without changing the relaxed atmosphere. Thanks so very much 💓 for your service - I'll definitely return 🤓

This place is impressive. All prepared on the premises by the owner. Staffed today (16th Jan 21) by a couple of fun, sassy, ladies who know their way around a kitchen. I ordered up big on gluten free items because I'm not good on the gluten. They had a whole separate display cabinet for GF. 1st I had the Pepper steak pie. The pastry was wonderful and the filling had been made with love, flavour and time+++. I think it was the best pie I have ever had. I also demolished an orange and almond cake and a lemon curd tart. The tart was particularly good. They even had lactose free milk for my latte. There is a spacious dining area as well that I wasn't expecting. I was surprised to see lots of other GF items on the menu. There were plenty of tables out the front and an unusual $1 Covid cleaning charge to sit down. I see some diners have whined about that but the signs are clear and it is only a dollar. It costs money to wait tables and a user pay system for people to clean up after you isn't unfair. This is not your average bakery in a far flung rural farming community.

The burgers are AMAZING! 10 out of 10. They make the best classic Australian-style burgers I’ve had since I was a kid in the 80s. This place is so good it’s worth driving out to Avoca, just go eat here. Also, customer service is outstanding and Avoca’s a lovely town with a beautiful stretch of river.

Great friendly service, was a joy to chat to, and also very knowledgeable about the area. Nice hot coffee. Also, bacon and egg rolls were spot on. Great place to stop on the way through or kick back and enjoy a pizza. Happy customers will stop in again 🙂

This is my first time to drink cafe. Although I am not sure the cafe is good or bad but...I order the latte and the best eat with Brownie cake. It's really good cake! And we sit on the outside closer the sunshine☀ to getting warm in the winter is the good day for us.👭recommended it!!

The unexpected highlight of my day. On Sunday the 13th November 2022 as I travelled through Avoca I visited the Home Made Cafe. Being an old vegetarian I didn't expect the service I got. I was looked after with tasty hamburger with the lot, no meat!! along with a lovely herb and sundried tomato muffin. EFTPOS payment no issues. I did note an assortment of interesting customers who all appeared to be happy with the service. I highly recommend.

Lovely welcoming staff. My husband had the chicken Thai curry pie, I enjoyed the vegetable pasty. Both were very very good. Great flavours.

What a great place for coeliacs. Baked goods, Sandwiches. Fish and chips. Excellent variety. I had a g.f hamburger with the lot which was superb. Bun was soft, tasty and held together really well. Couldn't resist a cake for the trip home either. Definitely worth the trip.

Great hours, very friendly staff, the food is fantastic, although the margarita pizza was a bit dry and could do with more cheese and sauce, but all in all I would definately recommend, and the slices are THE BEST!!!!!
Keep up the good work

Lovely herby sausage rolls and tasty toasted focaccias. The coffee was perfect, too. Worth stopping for in this delightful, tidy little town.
