It is a wonderful and easy walk up the summit, with lovely surrounding views. There are look outs in between. Birds were singing and we were so lucky with the weather. We took out time, soaking in the lovely surroundings and taking photos.

Well paved and maintained walking trail. Mostly paved the first half of the trail, stairs and steel walk to the top. Counted more or less 336 stairs/steps. Not a seasoned hiker, took half an hour with my slow small stride to walk to the top with some short stops and photos. Literally breathtaking and stunning views on the summit.

A must for anyone coming to Nelson Bay who is fit enough to hike. The view and the wind just took my breath away. Photos do not do it justice. Saw two huge lizards on the way up. Well paved or with metal steps all the way up.

For those who hasn't been active in exercising for long like me (1 year of not doing any run), despite being said to be an easy hike, it can still be quite strenuous. The path is easy to walk and it has been built with stairs, however, it is the elevation and the steepness of the walk that caused me to be very tired.

The view is magnificent. We managed to spot a pod of dolphin (about 4 or 5) surfacing up and swimming around near the coast.

The whole walk takes about 2 hours for me. There are parking onsite, however, if you are going on a weekend or early morning, I suggest you can consider parking alittle further away from the main carpark as the main carpark has only got a few slots.

A very rewarding walk uphill on a paved path and stairs. Easy hike if you are ok with the elevation gain. Kids were doing the walk. Bring a picnic to enjoy the calm beach on the bay or waves on the other side of the head. Both are easy access

Great walk, all uphill on the way up, but not too long and well worth it once you get there! What a beautiful view! Walk down is great afterwards! If you want make sure you go around and walk to the old battlement too!

The wall took about 45 minutes and we had 3 kids (10, 8 and 5). Get there early cause it gets busy. We were there at 6.30. Make sure you go to the gun area half way up. The bunkers are so cool. You can actually climb in them

A very serene experience. The hike is moderately difficult. But the view at the top is worth the climb. It is somewhat difficult to find the parking depending upon how busy it is at the moment. Parking is paid. There are few beaches around too if one is in the mood for a dip. 10/10 recommended.

Once you arrive at the Tomaree head summit car park there’s limited parking space, but there’s also a few spaces down the road. There’s two options for you to enjoy the beautiful bay view:

1. A walk along the pathway at low level, which is an easy and relaxed walk around the bay with a nice panoramic scenery
2. A 45 minute hike to Tomaree head, which consists of a steep trail with a 161m elevation.

We chose option 1 as we had elderly parents with us and hiking that steep wouldn’t be suitable. For more adventurous & fit youngsters, I’d definitely take the challenge!

Beautiful place for a casual stroll or a good workout run. They just re did the stairs so lots of room and safety. Hard to beat the views.

It's a steep hike up the hill, but worth it for the view. Plenty of benches and areas on the way up to rest. Once you get to the top you can walk around the summit. There are 2 different viewing platforms to view the sunrise and the surrounding area.

Nice hiking trail in Nelson's Bay. If you're visiting the area, this is definitely a must do. Wear comfy shoes and clothes. Half the track is on flat pavement and then stairs.

Highly recommended. Well worth the effort. The view from the summit is worth every step. There are plenty of rest spots along the climb so pace yourself. Every stop has magnificent views.

One of the best hike I had been to. The view from the top was so perfect that I didn’t want to come back at all. We went a little late in the evening so missed the sunset on the way but still it was worth it.
