The road maintenance crew fixed our road and provided a follow up phone call. Reporting was easy through the website.

Mandy from building administration is the most helpful & kind person to deal with. She will always go above and beyond. A wonderful worker who should be highly valued.

Last night's storms took out a very large gum tree on the road near our front gate, closing off our driveway. SES were inundated with calls so I rang the customer service desk at counci to see if they could help. I spoke to Brendan who proved to be of great assistance. Work crew were here within an hour and the job was speedily completed.
Much appreciated and many thanks to all concerned.

During this lockdown due to covid 19 I rang the council on behalf of my aged pensioners parents to see if they can continue to go to theyre property in pyalong to tend to they’re livestock and
Was informed by a very courteous and
Polite council staff member that it was allowed .
My matter was answered more promptly and efficiently then the vague answers I’ve been getting from the covid hotline.

Not a review of the council as they really do a lazy job, the roads are terrible, the placement of signs is ridiculous and the nature strips are unkempt and bare. They could be dying a lot more for this town.

HOWEVER the women working in this office are really lovely and sweet. Very patient in serving and dealing with customers, knowledgeable and informative, and also sympathetic with customers and their issues.

Had to wait 15 min for first contact.
Pretty sad for a council.
Then to be told they cannot reach the department I needed was a complete waste of time.

The worst council in the state. 3rd highest rates in the state, their storm water drainage or lack there of has caused over 300k damage to my property. They send you infringement notices in error then don’t reply to your correspondence except to send a reminder notice with $30 added to the incorrect infringement notice. Greediest pack of scumbags going. Councillors won’t respond to emails the ceo won’t respond to emails. Putrid!

Mitchell shire should up their act, last year it took them nearly 6 months to replace a street sign that was blown away by the wind. And there is always an excuse when you call them again to follow up. Rates are through the roof, some staff are so mean and heartless especially at the Rates department. No empathy whatsoever with new residents. The sooner local government is removed, the better.

It's such a shame the council do not dip their hands in their pockets and spend some money. Assuming they are happy to take people's money though. Roads run down. Pioneer Park and other parks disgusting and poorly maintenance and clearly not a cent spent on them. Council haven't even gone to the effort to empty bins. Would not recommend a visit except to pass through and feel for the people who pay rates for no return.

Pathetic. Explained in all the other reviews, over and over again. Deserves a negative review....

8 years and counting.... This HOLE has been there that long! Next to no maintenance of the apparently 'working' drain. If it were working, the water would not be sitting there. Hole fills up and then runs off over the other side of the road, creating another HOLE on the other side of the road. They do not abide by their own rules. The hole is beyond the aloud 10cm depth. Spoke to someone at council about who just laughed and made a joke about it. Most despicable to deal with.
Was also told I talk to loud. We live in a multicultural society. How about you have a think about what you're saying. Racist comment by the 'road person' at council. Absolutely disgraceful!

Mitchell shire council should be ashamed of themselves to charge so much on rates . They are stealing from hard working home owners. They are thieves. They want our money but when you need their help they ignore you .Please tell us where is our money going to from paying our rates? The roads in wallan have pot holes that need repairing Mitchell council are quick to put the land rates up what about using the money to maintain the roads and footpaths? Shame on you Mitchell council should pay for the damage on our cars caused by the pot holes on the roads.

Charge a fortune in rates, deliver nothing as a result. No hard rubbish collection, no green waste collection, charge $90 for a rate payer to drop a 6x4 at the tip. Roads are in terrible condition and they do absolutely nothing to assist local small business. Requested that my small business pay for construction of public service road outside premises with est. cost well in excess of $1m. Greedy and incompetent.

Our rubbish bin was missed during collection.
After multiple phone calls we were assured it would collected within 3 business days. That came and went.
Then it was a struggle to get the truck driver to take our additional rubbish.
