Ashmont Motor Inn & Apartments

Clean and spacious with all the amenities but still old fashioned charm. We've been travelling along the Great Ocean Road and staying each night at a different motel. This was the best. Walking distance to everything and if you're stuck inside because of a downpour it's got enough seating room so the bed isn't the only spot!

The room we had was great.
Air con works well, kitchenette in room is good and the bed was very comfortable.
Owner was accommodating of the government's constant changes in border rules, allowing us to stay longer.

Great service and very friendly staff. Accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. If we needed something staff were happy to help. Location of Accommodation was in such a good spot, walking distance to shops. Definitely will stay there again.

The Ashmont Motor Inn & Apartments is centrally located within walking distance to the main shopping areas and streets.

You can leave your car at night and head to dinner and enjoy a few wines or other drinks, and walk happily home. The main tourist attractions are a short drive, bike ride, or decent walk away [perfect for getting your 10,000 steps!].

This property has apartments and hotel rooms. I stayed in a queen hotel room on the ground level, with no set parking space on a first-come basis.

When you arrive, you are greeted by one of the hosts - the ever-busy-on-the-phone Dean [an in joke] - a nice fella with an abundance of knowledge to share. Check-in was no fuss and quick.

During COVID, many of the rooms had an upgrade of sorts. New furniture, bed heads/mattresses, carpet and so forth. The bathrooms are still in excellent nick, so they were left untouched. For a motor inn, the basic room was huge!

Room 4 -
Queen bed, with sheets and thin duvet that was nice and warm on the increasingly colder nights. The bed was so comfortable that getting to sleep wasn't hard. The rooms are quite soundproof, and obviously, that also depends on the type of guest next door or upstairs.

The room had a workbench, with plenty of powerpoints for chargers and the like. There was also a dining table, kitchenette complete with fridge and microwave, and lounge room with a comfy sofa and a small table. There are the usual amenities in the cupboard, but no safe. There is an air conditioner for heating/cool.

The bathroom had sturdy tiling and an amply spaced shower with great water pressure. A big plus was the three bright lights above the bathroom mirror - so helpful for applying makeup, sunscreen, or just drying your hair. Another big tick for me was the towels' quality - thick, warm and luxuriously wide. YAY!

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here; it was quiet, cosy, and secure- but most of all, great value for money. I look forward to staying again.

Very nice apartment, cosy, very friendly and accommodating staff. Rain shower was great. However, there were no black out curtains in the bedroom so the room gets brighter in the morning and more difficult to sleep in.

Great weekend stay with the owners being so helpful especially trying to help me with a lost item,we had a very large appartment it was fantastic.

Good location, nice and quiet, clean, friendly staff. The only thing we don't have in our motel room is a cooking option - no cooktop. There is a toaster & micro however and plenty of food options in short walking distance

The owner was very friendly, the room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. It was within easy walking distance of pretty much everything.

The best nights sleep I’ve ever had in motel accommodation. Really comfy beds, quiet location, but very central to everything you need at Port Fairy.

After a few recent disappointments with accommodation, we were all nervous about the stay but the apartment ticked all boxes. The apartments were conviniently located, clean, smart and elegant.

Nice and tidy motel. Everything that you probably would expect from a motel is there. Close to promenade (definitely worth a visit) and cafes/pubs. I would recommend this motel also because of the friendly staff. Good place to spend the night.
