Coolamon Fire Museum

Having stopped at Coolamon to visit the cheese factory, we walked past the Fire Museum and decided to poke our head in… well what a fantastic museum. Located in the former fire station, the museum houses a wide collection of fire memorabilia.

The owner is knowledgeable and will talk through what the equipment is and how it was used. If you are ever near by, then stop in and discover some Australian history!

A great destination to visit for the locals who love fire trucks. There's such a great variety of fire engines and equipment to look at, both old and new. The kids and elderly will probably love it too! 🚒🔥🚒

A great museum in a small country town. The guy looking after it is an ex firefighter and has a heap of information... very interesting and worth a stop

What a brilliant place to visit. Stopped for 10 mins and spent over an hour. You have to admire the dedication and the personal investment of Chris. We absolutely loved the information he passed on.

A huge amount of work for only one man to achieved. It's a must to visit.

Definitely worth a visit. Chris gave us a detailed look at the rich history of fire fighting. While most of the collection was Australian there was a mix of memorabilia from around the world.

Absolutely loved looking around this old Fire Station.....Many items of Fire Service related memorabilia from around the World...... Being ex Fire Service (UK) did make it all the more interesting..... Great little Town to stop off at, with a few interesting places to visit, including the old Store across the road from the Fire Station......

This place is a treasure. The personal collection of a retired fireman. If you're lucky, he'll show you around. He has firefighting equipment, uniforms, helmets, toy trucks and more from across the ages and the world.

Well worth the visit. Owner obviously very passionate and knowledgeable of the collection. Good to see some Kiwi gear in the collection. Well worth a visit when visiting Coolamon.
