Blazing Saddles

Five of us came to Blazing Saddles ranch for a morning beach and bush ride on a Tuesday. On arrival, all the workers were really friendly, the stable was kept in good condition and the horses all seemed to be well cared for. Our riding instructor, Jamie, was an excellent leader and she provided us with useful tips on how to ride, steer and control our horses well. Our beach and bush ride consisted of walking and trotting through the bush, up and down hills, and then riding on the sand along the beach. It was a very good experience and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. The friendly and approachable demeanour of the instructor made it all the more better, as I felt comfortable asking questions and chatting with her. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants an adventure, and if they are holidaying down near Airey’s Inlet. Thank you so much to the Blazing Saddles team. I couldn’t have asked for a better time!

I absolutely loved my experience yesterday as it was my first time riding! I would 100% recommend saddling up at the Blazing Saddles to have such an amazing experience. The staff are super friendly as well and made sure you were comfortable throughout the whole experience.

We had a blast! Excellent communication, great prices, amazing horses and we loved the views! Naomi was an amazing guide, she was patient and made us feel safe.

Loved our time spent here. Took the 3 yr old on a pony ride around the stable block and she loved it. No fuss or pressure from the team at Blazing Saddles, calm environment for beginners. Playground onsite and picnic tables. Thank you for making our day!

I've been on a fair few horse treks in my life and today was hands down the best time I've ever had riding! From start to finish the day was so much fun and our awesome guide Caro was a big part of that. She had an awesome attitude, made us feel so at ease and part if the family. I was was smiling ear to ear all day on my beautiful horse Peach planning my next trip back. Couldn't recommend something more if I tried. 11/10 for sure. 😊

My daughter and I had the most amazing time on our 'Learn to canter' trail ride today. Our instructor Cara was super nice and clearly very experienced and good at what she does. The horses were all perfectly suited to our various levels of experience. I was nervous about cantering again after a 27 year break, but Cara made it so simple and thoroughly enjoyable. We are already planning our next visit :)

Always a really fun time and the ponies and horses are beautiful and very well looked after. My daughter and I love coming here every time we're in town!

Did the marathon bush and beach ride and it was amazing! We spent all day exploring the beautiful forest and ended with cantering along the beach. As an experienced rider it was great, there was lots of trotting and cantering. The horses were fit, well cared for and a pleasure to ride.

Had a brilliant ride yesterday with my 11 & 14 year old kids who had never been on a horse before. They chose the right horses for us all and the instructions on how to ride the horse were given in simple terms that the kids could understand and remember. Our leader was amazing and the communication was great. My 14 year old was really hesitant but said he had the best time and is looking forward to doing it again. Hight recommend Blazing Saddles!

I started riding at blazing saddles when I was 9 years old, and I've been riding ever since. It's really close to my beach house so I always go there when I go on holidays. It's got so many different rides to do, and I often do the 'learn to canter' bush trail ride or sometimes the 'Dam ride'. It's a lot of fun, because I love going fast. Today, I did the Beach ride, and I had an AMAZING time! The instructors said that we would only walk and trot, but we cantered too!! It was a lot of fun, and my horse was really well behaved and loved running along the beach.

Blazing saddles is a really good riding school, whether you're a beginner, or experienced, it's a perfect place to go! The staff are extremely friendly and relaxed. I suggest doing the Beach ride because it was heaps of fun and I got to do a mix of different things! I recommend going to Blazing Saddles, because it's a great place with lots of awesome experiences!

Last minute (9am enquiry) and they accomodated a 10:30am bush beach ride. As complete beginners we were not sure what to expect but the team at Blazing Saddles were awesome.

We had about 2-3 hours riding through beautiful scenery with clear and simple instructions. Peaceful, fun and the horses were very well behaved.

Great value for money and highly recommend.

This place is great for a trail ride through the mountains and down to the beach. They offer rides for all levels of experience. The owner is friendly as is the staff. The horses are well trained and they try to match you as best they can to a horse for your level of riding experience. A great way to see the national park that is adjacent to the facility. As well, the beach ride is a great experience.

We’re a family of 4 who did the hour and a half walk and trott.

Great experience walking gently through bush, up the hill to take in amazing coastal and bush views and then back. The horses were easy going, the staff helpful and patient, and overall it was a great (and easy) time entertaining the kids. Highly recommended.

We also had a very easy time booking, which is worth mentioning. The day before our booking we had a COVID alert and had to get tested (negative luckily), we called to let them know and they were very supportive; gave us lots of flexibility.

Would definitely come again.

Thanks to the lovely staff at Blazing saddles for an unforgettable first experience with our large group of kids. Some of the young ones were a bit anxious about the ride but the 30min lesson prior to the trail ride (highly recommend!) was very controlled by the young lady in charge of the course and the girls quickly gained in confidence, skills and excitement to go for the hour long walk in beautiful countryside and formed a real attachment to their beautifully natured gentle horses. My daughter Elsie and her friends will be regulars from now I think. We really look forward to coming back again soon :)

I've ridden here many times, and the thing is that if you're an experienced rider and you want a challenging ride, you've got to book on a weekday that's not in Summer or school holidays if you'd like to go on the beach. If you manage to snag a booking that just has your party and the trail leader, you'll have a fantastic ride.

They do have a 2 1/2 hour bush ride that they only allow experienced riders to go on that is usually pretty fun, even on weekends.

This place is so popular that if you book on weekends for any of the other rides, you will be overrun with beginners. For safety reasons, the ride goes to the pace of the most inexperienced rider so you'll end up having a lovely walk through some nice bushland, or along a beautiful beach, with some short bursts of trot. It's an excellent place that will look after beginner riders really well to give them a positive experience.

The trail leaders know what they're doing, really look after the people on the ride, and give good tips to help make inexperienced riders better. They are always in communication with the base just in case something goes wrong. The horses are in very good condition, well looked after and they've got mounts to suit most riders. The tack is all in good working condition, though some of it is starting to get a bit old.

My partner and I went on the pub and beach ride with Alex and it was amazing!! She took us through the bush, onto the beach, gave us so many tips and tricks about improving our riding, let us walk,trot or canter in the safe places when we wanted to. Could not reccomend this buisness and Alex enough. The horses were very well behaved and suited to our needs. We will definately be returning. Not to mention the awesome
customer service, we only booked 1 day before and Alex made it happen!! LOVED IT!!

This was an excellent experience. My Fiance brought this for us up in Lorne and we did the ride and pub lunch it was not only beautiful but the horses where so lovely. The instructor we had was brilliant and the whole experince flowed so well and was such a great thing to do. It was well worth the money and the amount of time you got to actually ride and be outside was fantastic. My favourite part was crossing the awsome bushland over to the beach crossing on the Great Ocean Road. The food also at the Airleys Pub was great.

Having an instructor that was so easy to get along with made this experince even better. Well be coming back this year.

P.s if youre concerned about horse ridding they have all different horses to suit whether you are experinced or not and also you can choose what pace you want on the trail and also how far you want to go. Very flexiable !!

Went for the bush and beach trail ride yesterday and it was truly an amazing experience. Despite the rainy weather, our guide (missed his name) took care of us and ensured that we were safe despite the slippery roads. He also provided detailed explanations about the park and beach we were on. Overall really enjoyed myself and can't wait to be back.

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of going for the 2.5 hour bush/beach ride. The staff were lovely, the horses wonderful and I'll definitely be coming back again! Such a gorgeous bush trail to ride through and the beach is stunning. Well done guys, keep up the fantastic work 👍
