Fika Time Cafe/Restaurant & General Store

Amazing place. I wish I could double the stars! Prices are so good for the quality of food you get. The cafe is so cosy and the owners are lovely. So glad we tried the Flying Jakob for breakfast, such an unusual mix of flavours, but so well balanced. Highly recommend. The Swede Burger was also delicious. The berry pie was so light and fluffy and not overly sweet, which was great. The cherry strudel was also soooo good.

This place was so delicious that we went back three times! Would definitely go again if I'm in Tassie again!

The owners of Left of Filed recommended eating here and very happy they did. Highly recommend. We were here 3 times, had the Fika Time breakfast twice and just coffee the other time. Coffee is great.

Food is excellent and plentiful. The eggs were cooked as requested, everything was served hot and was delicious. They have a small grocery store area along with baked goods available. There are lots of gluten free options as well.

Owners are friendly and helpful. The restaurant and area is also very clean. You get a great view from any of the windows.

Great location, heading back from Gordon Dam.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast and the food was so good! We both had a meal and then shared a third one because it was so delicious! It was our first real meal after finishing the West Arthur's Traverse, no regrets. Staff were so kind and friendly ☺

Gorgeous little Cafe with a great view. We sat in the nice courtyard area to enjoy some delicious food. Very clean toilet area also. 😊

Food looks amazing. Not fast food but good food. Great place to fika as there is nothing else between Medena and Gordon Dam.

Friendly service, great food and very filling burgers. I had the Swede Burger and vegetable chips which were both super tasty. My brother had the same burger plus a slice of the Skogen Toast which he loved.

$15 each for the burgers, $4.50 for the veggie chips and $10 for the toast was very reasonably priced.

Very pleasant staff. Chicken schnitzel was huge, fresh and very taste. Right after I ordered, about 20 bikes dropped in. Staff were very efficient and multi tasked to get them all fed and watered. It was a pleasure to watch them in action, and to eat that burger.

A heartwarming experience at the edge of the Tassie wilderness! We, of Hungarian origin, were absolutely taken by the food, the decor, the service. The strudels, the goulash, the funny sounding burger... (in Hungarian fika means something else) it was all great! Danke schön och tack!

Yum! So fresh, good quality home style food. I had a haloumi burger with bacon, a chai latte and chips with relish and couldn't fault it. The banana split looked unreal if that's your thing. Make sure you allow some time on your travels to stop here for a bite.

This cafe is value for money. Perfect for any meal of the day, portion sizes are good, prices are affordable and the staff are lovely. Would definitely recommend when passing through.

Excited to see it was Saturday pizza night. Loved the flavours. A very interesting BBQ sauce on the BBQ chicken pizza. Atmosphere is really special with freshly painted and colourful tables and seats. The place looks well loved.

If you are visiting the bike park at Maydena then this is the place to go for coffee, snacks and lunches. Best toasted sandwich I have ever had. They don’t mind if you are in bike gear and there is plenty of warm indoor seating or sunny outdoor picnic benches. Our group had burgers, duck goulash, coffee and milkshakes. All delicious. If you are staying locally they have milk and a small selection of supplies plus ice creams and cold drinks. The service was amazing too.

We did fika in this hyggelige (cosy) place. What a pleasant surprise to find a little Sweden here. It is quaint and welcoming. Love the kanel bullar (cinnamon scrolls), and the coffee.

This is a lovely cafe with interesting and delicious food. We had the Skagen toast, Fika burger and one of the Austrian crepes. As Arnold Schwarzenegger would say, “I’ll be back”.

A great little place to stop on your trip. We had delicious coffee and wonderful home made treats which were served with a smile. Definitely be back.

Loved this cafe and loved the hospitality! I had a burger - delicious - and then two chicken and cheese toasties - again, delicious! Great value, fresh and generous portions. I wish I could give this 10 stat's. Fuel available as well.
