Eden Farmstay "The Barn"

A wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. 5 minutes drive from the sleepy cosy little town of Cygnet which holds a wonderful folk festival each new year. On this farm you will find Highland cattle, Thor being the big daddy, alpacas, goats, sheep, chickens and ducks which you can hand feed. The Barn itself has been repurposed into a 5 star accommodation housing 8 I am pretty sure, or less of course. It's great for an extended family get away. Check it out ✔ ✅

We have stayed at Eden twice now, and have had an absolutely wonderful time each visit. The location is picturesque, the accommodation is beautiful, and the hosts are so friendly - you won't want to leave!
Each afternoon of your visit you'll have the opportunity to feed the farm animals - including goats, alpacas, cows and chickens. If you have kids they will love it.
The accommodation is spacious and has everything you need and more. Suitable for big and small families, or multiple families.
And the location is just perfect for exploring the beautiful Huon Valley. I cannot recommend Eden Farmstay enough!

Prefect stay for two families travelling with kids. Highlight was definitely the array of farm animals which the kids loved spending time with and feeding daily. Jo and Matt were splendid hosts, taking us on a farm tour and allowing the kids to bottle feed the baby goats - they are still talking about Dot. Awesome location as the farm is large enough to make you feel like you are really off the beaten track, yet close enough to great restaurants and wineries. Definitely recommend.

My family of 7 stayed here in mid-Nov and we loved it! Only 45 mins from Hobart and you get a quite peaceful BEAUTIFUL farm with green slopes and adorable animals! Jolanda was responsive and helpful when I emailed to ask questions and Matthew is a lovely person who showed us around the farm and how to feed the animals. The cabin was well-furnished, comfortable and so pretty!! What a great experience, especially if you are a city-dweller, this is a tranquil getaway. Highly recommended!

What a stunning Farmstay. Our children aged 7 and 5 and us parents had a great weekend.

Everything was beyond what we expected.

Lots of kitchen food provisions, cooking utensils, fishing rods, spare gumboots, sticks and matches, books, toys, coffee machine, animal food, torches… the list goes on! Amazing!

Our hosts were very thoughtful and kind. We felt that we were very welcome and shown wonderful hospitality.

Super comfy lounge room, heating / cooling, electric blankets and lovely bed linen and beds.

Closely located to the local town with pubs for meals, craft and art stores and artisan clothing and bakeries. Lots to do on the immediate area.

We will be back and cannot wait.

We spent 2 nights (last minute booking) in this absolutely beautiful Farm Stay. The Barn has been immaculately refurbished into the most wonderful country farm home, a warm and cozy feeling. The property has everything that is needed. The Farm offers a walk around feeding session each evening and the Goats are so friendly and always willing to have a pat. The property is super private with amazing views over the orchids and hills.
There are hidden little treasures within the home which you can use so be sure to take a good look. Lots of activities for the kids and a range of gumboots which was the perfect touch!
The property is big enough for larger families/friends or just a couple. The property is close to local attractions. This was the perfect place to stay whilst hiking in the snow at Mt Hartz. This was a hidden gem which we found and didn't want to leave. Will be back without hesitation. Thank you so much for our stay.

Eden Farmstay is a beautifully renovated barn on an absolutely stunning property near the cute little town of Cygnet - goes without saying we loved it!!
The kids particularly loved helping Matt feed the goats, alpacas, sheep and highland cows each day and Jolanda set us up with everything we needed during our stay.
The barn is huge and perfectly set up for 2 families of 4 with ample room. Full laundry as well which was an unexpected bonus.
We will be back!

If you would like peace and quiet and a beautiful roomy place to stay with your whole family then this is the place for you. Yolanda and Matt are the loveliest and kindest people. They let my girls feed the animals and spend hours with them. They took them up on their own to feed a baby kid with a bottle and hand out pellets to the alpacas chickens and goats. They enjoyed every moment at the farm and so did we as adults. There is something for everyone. Boardgames, Netflix and Stan, a BBQ out the back and a deck to delight. There is also a lovely area for the kids to play on swings and a moored ⛵ for the kids to be imaginative with.
We had time to enjoy the fireplace and chill. Eden Farmstay is delightful in every way. Do yourselves a favour and book it in. The owners have really thought of everything. Thankyou so very much Matt and Yolanda. We hope to enjoy your hospitality again.

The barn was welcoming and beautiful! You have to see it for yourself! The kids enjoyed feeding the animals. Matt and Jo were very friendly and prompt in replying to our many questions when making the booking. We stayed for two nights and didn't want to leave the place.

We had a wonderful stay at Eden Farm, the hosts are lovely and very welcoming. We all loved feeding the animals in the afternoon, walking through the orchards and collecting blackberries for a delicious apply and blackberry pie! Definitely recommend it.

The Barn is the most amazing experience and truly a home away from home. The personal touches and thoughtful details put into every element of the Barn and the whole farm experience makes this an absolute must-visit in the Huon Valley. Getting to feed the animals every day was the icing on the cake.

I’ve been fortunate to stay twice, once in each house. They are extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated with all the creature comforts you could hope for. Absolutely loved them both.

And the animals, ohhhh the animals! ❤ The feeding time was the highlight of the weekends. Nothing like a fresh egg or two! Or your very own bunny in your garden! I couldn’t recommend this place more.

WOW what a wonderful experience. Jo and Matt are the best hosts ever, you feel so welcomed you feel like family. Everything you could ever ask for and then some. Meeting and feeding the animals is so much fun from the goats, chickens, ducks, Alfie the alpaca and his family and Rambo and all his lady sheep to Thor the most beautiful, genteliest Scottish highland bull that melts when he gets his apples and his herd. Beautiful and tranquil best medicine for a family. The house so clean and everything you need, beds comfy etc. it makes you not want to leave. Thanks again Jo, Matt and menagerie and welcome to our family we will be back. Super highly recommended. xx

Beautiful farm, best holiday my family have ever had! A wonderful experience for kids of all ages feeding the animals each day and the owners Matt and No are just lovely hosts. Can't say enough goodness about Eden, we have stayed twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed it both times.

We stayed at Eden farm on the week of Thursday, 13 February to Monday, 17 February . The booking was under Rowe.Their were four children and an adult in one part and there were four adults in the other part. We absolutely loved it there with all the different animals and of course pancakes was extra special. Yolanda and Matthew couldn’t do enough for us , since we are mainly city folk , we went on the animal feed every afternoon and we loved it . All of the chicken, ducks, goats and those cattle and of course the pigs and alpaca, we were fascinated by it all . We found it very welcoming and a very comfortable stay. Very clean 4 bedroom house in a scenic spot. Air conditioning, wood heater, full kitchen and comfy beds. Very friendly hosts. I stayed for work so I didn't get time to feed the animals but caught a glimpse of some goats and a few alpacas

We had a lovely stay at Eden Farm Stay – The accommodation was great for our family of 4, we had a great outdoor eating area we used when the weather was good. There were lots of little additions inc. needle and thread, books, DVDs to make it feel like a home away from home and some complementary food items on arrival to help get you started that was great esp. as we arrived late at night. Matthew gave great feeding tours with our boys that allowed them to interact and feed the animals that was great. There was an area of the farm that has a bunch of fossils that made for a great morning exploring for the family. There was a fire pit we used one evening to toast marshmallow and a place Matthew showed us where the Pademelon could be spotted early evening. We borrowed the farms fishing gear one day to go down to one of the jetties for a fish. We had a week in the area and there was more than enough to keep us busy for all that time. A great area to visit and a great choice of accommodation.

This is the second visit we have had at this farmstay and I hope to be back again soon. Huge and beautiful farmhouse with more than enough room for my family of 6. Two of my children have autism and I could not put a price on the experience they both received. Mat and Jo are great hosts and they made us feel right at home.

Such an amazing experience staying here. My whole family stayed here for 4 nights when we were down in Cygnet for a wedding back in February. The owners are so welcoming with the daily food tours, learnt a lot about all of the farm animals and the Tasmanian farming culture. Such a pleasure waking up to the amazing farm animals and paddocks and of course the pancake. The only minor issue was there was no wifi in the rooms but we could access wifi in reception and plus it was nice just to be disconnected for a few days while relaxing in an amazing location. Would love to come back to Eden and makes me want to explore more farmstays when travelling.

What an amazing slice of heaven! The barn is beautifully decorated with such an eye for detail, very clean and comfortable. Thankyou Jo and Matthew for having us. I hope to return with my family in the future.
