The Barrelroom Wine Lounge

Lovely place. We got this board for 2 and the wine tasting, everything was great. Really easy to find. Tasty wines and good prices. The person who served was very knowledgeable, explained each wine well and answered our questions. I certainly recommend it.

What a gorgeous place. Greeted by a warm welcome, we were asked what we would like to do. We chose a wine tasting plater for 1 (enough for 2) and a smaller platter, no tasting. Our friends chose 2 wines, and my husband had a beer. From the minute we sat down, we were treated to luxury and just fabulous service. Each of the wines tasted was beautifully described. Every single person who served us was not only very knowledgeable but also happy to chat, making us all feel really welcome. The platters were just delicious and all from locally sourced produce. 100% recommend.

Awesome restaurant!

Firstly, Ballandean wine is really great and there is only a limited mark up on these wines on the Barrelroom Restaurant menu. We choose the Merlot, which has to be one of the best examples of this type.

For entree both myself and my partner had the mushroom soup, which was really exceptional. We also had the freshly made sour dough, which was also great.

For mains, we had the prawn tagliatelle and the mushroom tortellini. Both were exceptional and come recommended.

For dessert we had the Panna Cotta, which was also great.

This has to be the best restaurant in the region!

This was a great meal. It has a stellar reputation and it really does deserve it. The food was very high quality and tasted absolutely divine. They were obviously short staffed in terms of serving staff when we visited with only two on the floor of the restaurant and yet their service was quick and responsive, way better than most restaurants who have many more staff.
Do come and enjoy a wonderful meal.

A fantastic place to spend an evening, it was so good we went there two nights in a row.
The food was heavenly and the quality was exceptional. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It really immersed us in the vineyard cellar feel. The wait staff went above and beyond to make us feel accommodated and welcomed, without them, without them we would have been lost, literally! Can not recommend this place enough! I can't wait to come back

Great food and wine along with a lovely ambience. This was our first time dining here and it didn’t disappoint. With a delicious duck breast perfectly cooked and a beautiful seafood pasta leaving you wanting more. We look forward to our next visit. Yum.

Great fine dining in rural area where you wouldn't expect to find place so fantastic like this restaurant. The food is delicious. I loved our sheep and venison meat as well as great pavlova with granita. I'm not sure if granita was made of fresh strawberry or the syrup because was tasting a bit 'fake' but this is the only little thing that I can pick to criticised. Everything else was just fantastic, together with great service, the girl who served us was very knowledgeable and explained the philosophy of the restaurant which support local farmers. If you like red wine, you must try Ballandean Estate Saperavi which is my favourite wine from the winery. You can buy it also in the cellar door that is right next to, however goes well with the Barrelroom and Larder food ;)

Quite possibly the most amazing meal we've ever eaten! The gnocchi was so soft and pillowy, like eating potato fairy floss. It just melted in your mouth with the delicious ragu! The depth of flavour in the beef and pork meatballs was just incredible!

Delicious, warm and filling. I had the mushroom soup and the chocolate mousse tart. Wine from the estate matched very well. The sticky date pudding was pretty good too. The service was professional and good. The decor is beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed and would go again. Thanks!

Great low mileage / local / bio food philosophy. Read their statement and try to degustation 7 course menu with wine pairing from the winery where the restaurant is located . It's worth a Michelin star restaurant.. our best experience in Australia.

Shared an Antipasto plate for lunch with a glass of their wine. Food and wine were excellent. Atmosphere in the new room was wonderful and Leeann was an excellent host. Strong recommend if you’re in the area.

We lucked in with The Barrelroom Restaurant. We knew we'd need to book and a google search found us booking here sight unseen. The food was absolutely delicious, even the kids meals. Food service was very prompt - we had to ask them to stall dessert as we were filling up but really wanted to try it. Even better we had a lift home from our accommodation so could enjoy some of the estate wines. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Staff were friendly, helpful and informative. One person in our group had food allergies which was catered for. A delightful visit.

Couldn't fault it. Turned up on Sunday for lunch. Had a couple glasses of the local red wine which was very nice. Had the carpaccio and the risotto balls, both of which we excellent and then had a duck ragout pasta and a seafood fettucine. Probably some of the nicest food I had in the region. Im told the chef makes his own pasta and if that is the case then well done.

The 5 of us dined there and absolutely love it. Atmosphere was fabulous and the meals were great. I particularly liked the crumbed cauliflower and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the hoggett. Would definitely recommend dining at the Barrelroom you won't be disappointed

Excellent restaurant with a very creative chef who designed a delicious vegetarian meal (not the usual capsicum and eggplant, or mushroom risotto fare). The ingredients are all sourced within a 3-hour radius (and only that far for seafood). I can't praise this restaurant enough. The wait staff were lovely and very helpful. My partner said it was the best restaurant meal he'd had in living memory!

Outstanding food, imaginative, well presented and truly delicious. Three of us had 3 different meals and they were all spectacular. Great service, nice ambiance and of course lovely wines. Best restaurant experience for some time.

Absolutely love this restaurant! Head Chef Travis and Chef Tristan are truly amazing. The food they produce is wonderful. Arabella, your service is above and beyond. We have dined at this restaurant 3 times now and each time we could not wait to return. Definitely worth the 2.5hr drive!!
Keep up the great work, we shall return.

Exceptional food and service.
It is a good idea to book as we discovered. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table, but we enjoyed wine tasting with Leanne Puglisi. This restaurant is a foodies delight. Will be back asap. Also its location in Ballandean Estate Winery is a win win situation.

As a local business owner and operator of accommodation in the area, we love to reccomend local restaurants when asked by our guests where they should dine.
We had the pleasure of dining at The Barrelroom tonight and will definately be reccomending our guests visit for lunch or dinner during their stay with us.
We had Osso Bucco and the home made fettuccine with seafood and they were both amazing.
Staff were attentive and although it was quite busy, we were served promptly.
