No car access. A lovely leisurely 5km walk the long way around through the trees. The short way straight up the hill is 3km and a bit slippery in some areas so sturdy shoes recommended. Campsite has nice flat grassy areas and beautiful views and very peaceful. Tanks are non potable so bring your own drinking water. Phone reception is good all the way.

Very nice. Quiet campground with good facilities. If you want to use one of the tent shelters, bring a freestanding tent. You will not get pigs into the soil.

The campsite is spacious on an open but gently sloped hill. There is some shade in the afternoon but it's generally in full sun. There are many people who pass by the site and few who stay.

The rain water tanks were full at the end of Feb but there had been reasonable rain recently. Filter or boil water before drinking, there is visible small things swimming around in it.

There is no road access to this site.

It was quiet and the facilities good and clean. Not an idyllic setting but fine for a one night stopover. It was fairly dry when I walked through July 2020.

The northern border campsite was built at the time the Canberra Centenary Trail was created. The facilities are therefore relatively new and in good condition. I visited in December 2019 after one of the driest springs on record, but found both rain water tanks clear full. The campsite doors not appear to get much use. There is running water in the basin in the pit toilet, fed from the two rainwater tanks. The picnic table and sleeping platform are well made from hardwood, on a cement platform. A separate shelter has room for at least a couple of tents, although the gravel floor needs a bit of leveling. The entire campsite area is surrounded by private property, with the track passing through a narrow right of way corridor. Most of the campsite area is sloping, with the only flat tentsites in the two shelter areas. There is a communications tower in the hill just above the campsite, with four bars of signal strength in both the Telstra and Optus networks. Although the city is just over the hill, no sight or sound of the city is apparent at the campsite.

Important to note - strictly no vehicle or walking access allowed to the Northern Camp-site via Duke Road which is a PRIVATE ROAD in New South Wales.
Also road on Google Maps close to the Camp-site is a farm track on private property. NO ACCESS will be granted through private property under any circumstances and trespassers will be prosecuted.
No caravans, campervans etc are allowed at the Camp-site.
Walkers and bike riders must access the Trail leading to the Northern Camp-site from the Mulligan's Flat car park.
The booking system seems unclear on these details and is frustrating for both those wishing to use the Trail and Camp-site and property owners alike.
