Haven't had Turkish food before, but this restaurant served such a delightful experience. Really lovely spice and flavour combinations with each dish!! 😍
Would recommend to anyone who's in the area!

Simply excellent. Freshly baked bread & hummus, outstanding grilled octopus w. fava bean , tender fennel stem and dill, spinach burek; small dumplings filled with beef and a yoghurt sauce. Atmosphere a bit dead on a cold Wednesday night. In the arcade of a strange shopping centre. But the food it really good. We had a glass of the Turkish red wine too. That was very tasty and fresh.

Great chef hatted restaurant, food was well presented and creative. My favourite dish is the cheese dessert

Delicious, delectable, melt in your mouth kind of good food! Incredible is an understatement. This is definitely somewhere to take a date of you have the time! Amazing! Great service!

It's a great place to go for some fine dining and for something a little different. Safran serves authentic Turkish food that's flavoursome without being over the top.

Service is responsive and friendly. The atmosphere is suitably dark and quiet. Disabled access is good with no steps to consider.

Parking is a little hectic, but there is a public car park nearby.

The serving sizes are small, but you won't be hungry afterwards. They have a couple of special multi-course menu's to choose from.

Prices are high for the Central Coast but quite low compared to Sydney. As a fine dining experience, it's well worth the money.

Atmosphere, service, food, everything was perfect! 10/10.
Don't trust me just try. Homemade food with love full of twists and creativity. Food we would like to see more often.

I have been to hatted restaurants around the world that are HALF as good as this . Every single dish blew my mind. What they say is on the menu, tastes exactly as it states - everything has more flavour than you can ever imagine and this chef KNOWS HIS STUFF! I am absolutely blown away and my tastebuds are singing and will be for days !!!!! WOW!!!!!!

We chose the degustation/Safran experience and it was amazing. Definitely worth the cost. All the flavours combined were delicious. I grew up with traditional tarhana soup, çiğ köfte and erişte however never seen these foods made in this way, it was so unique. Our favourites were the çiğ köfte, king prawn and homous. For dessert the künefe and Turkish coffee icecream were next level. The waiter was also very knowledgeable and provided excellent service. Definately recommend this experience. Make sure to wear comfy clothing (I had to undo my jeans) and allocate yourself 2 hours for sitting and eating.

Sensational, unique food and fantastic service at this hidden gem. I've never eaten anything quite like it. I've eaten a lot of Turkish food, but nothing as refined as this.

We had the scallops, kingfish, zucchini flowers, barramundi, beef rib, mousse and the sarma roll. Everything was amazing. We'll be back next time we're in the Central Coast for sure.

I would describe the food here as refined modern Australian cuisine with a strong Turkish influence. We had a group bday dinner so was a few adults and kids of different ages. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, although not all were perfect still warrants a 5 star review. Food and service were very good.

We (3 people) went to Saffron to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. She is Turkish, so we wanted to treat her to something special, and Safran served the goods. The meal was exceptional. The Moreton Bay Bug and Goat were probably our favourite dishes of the night, but everything else was a close second. The chef's attention to detail is seen in every dish. The restaurant also had a renovation, making it a cosy environment with attentive staff making it a perfect night out. As far as restaurants go on the coast, Safran is one I will highly recommend to others, and I will go back sooner rather than later.

When I go to a restaurant, I look for attentive service.
We were greeted by Ollie an excellent hostess,She is a great asset to Safran.
She asked for drinks, happy and Cheerful and also engaging, which I love...
Being in the hospitality industry for a very long time,I'm often critical of service,there was no complaints from my side
We had the THREE COURSE $89 pp
We started with :Local sourdough w house hummus, & sumac, sesame, herb oil GFA and as a complimentary we received Kingfish pastirma, pickled eggplant, preserved lemon, lavosh GFA
Flavours were well balanced, really loved the King fish

1,2,3 course we had the,Australian jumbo king prawn, grilled over charcoal, fennel seed tarhana, samphire, pickled green almond GFA
Eriste: traditional hand cut pasta, shredded confit duck, kes cheese, buttered duck jus, mixed mushroom foam, walnut GFA
Bugulama: steamed market fish, confit tomato, kohlrabi puree, potato galette, bay leaf cream GFA
Lamb backstrap, filled with sweetbreads & spinach, wrapped in caul fat, keskek, charred cabbage, confit garlic jus GFA
Slow braised QLD beef brisket w lemon & thyme, smoked eggplant begendi, burnt milk yoghurt, sivri biber butter

For the side we had
Duck fat potatoes, pickled onion, tomatoes, garlic yoghurt, sucuk crumb GFA

Dessert:
Chocolate mousse, hazelnut cream, Turkish coffee ice cream GFA
Tatli: bite sized traditional Turkish sweets Lokum Turkish delight, Revani semolina cake, Sarma rolled pistachio baklava

Overall,.I would go back again to try the other dishes

The Gucel’s

Well worth the visit. Friday and Saturday offer a 4 course set menu and you are able to chose from a number of options. Definitely recommend picking the authentic Turkish dishes as they are amazing. There are mixed options for seating, definitely try to get an inside spot if in the colder months and always book ahead as this place is popular.

I thought I left my review before...but ...i must have forgotten. I have been to this restaurant may be 6-7 times with my wife and two sons. We visit here whenever we visit our holdiay house at Umina

Food is excelllent for a very reasonable price. I have been searching for a good restaurant in Central Coast area for a while and this place has been the best so far.

Atmosphere is also great. Not too formal not too casual.

The service is excellent too. They are attentive yet not (uncomfortablely) disturbing the dinner experiecne.

There seems to be few reviews saying that the food is okay, but really, for the price range it's verrrrry good!!! Worth every dollar.

I wish they bring back the dessert I posted with review. Miss it sooooo much!!

Absolutely fabulous! The food at Safran was sublime. We had so many dishes and every mouthful was heavenly. We couldn’t decide between the calamari and the octopus so we had both. WOW WOW WOW The freekah salad, confit garlic butter, zucchini fritters and all the desserts! Do not hold back. The staff were great and choose which combinations would come out together and the selection was perfectly matched. We also paired it with a delicious Turkish red wine. When your tastebuds light up like this it is a real taste sensation. Highly recommended and must go to when you’re next in Ettalong.

2 or 3 course and degustation options. Uniquely Turkish dishes and flavours for all tastes. Everything was just right.
