The attention to details and the various types of fabric used in my design was just beautiful. We had the initial fitting session to discuss where it needed to be altered more and a couple of days before the big day I had the perfectly fitting dress. I was so lucky to find someone as great as Olga. We designed and picked the lace together and she hand made me the most beautiful custom wedding dress. It was so easy to book in appointments and she catered for me even though i lived interstate. Price is so affordable for a couture gown. Purchase from Blinova Bridal at your own risk! After finding Blinova Bridal on Instagram, I flew from Sydney to Melbourne to try on the bridal mini dress. Olga took my measurements and told me that the dress would be ready for my wedding, which was 2 months away. 2 weeks out from my wedding she said that the dress was ready. I suggested that I come back to the store to pick it up but she said that she was holidaying in Sri Lanka and so she would have to post it. She asked me for an additional $80 postage fee for the postage from Sri Lanka, which I thought was very cheeky considering her shop is usually Melbourne based and I was offering to pick it up. A few days later the dress arrived and what a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT it was. The cups in the breast area were huge, the material around the the bottom area was all scrunched up, the straps were way too short and many of the the beads were loosely attached and falling off as a result. Overall it was very pool quality workmanship. Olga was insistent that there was nothing wrong with the dress and I just needed to ‘understand how to wear it’. I spent a very frustrating hour on Zoom with her to try and rectify the issue and see if I could better understand how to wear it. She spent most of the hour directing me to move my breasts in different directions in an attempt to make them fit into the oversized cups. At one point she event told me that I had a “weird shaped body”, which is why the dress didn’t fit properly…. despite her taking all my measurements upon purchasing the dress. At the end of the Zoom she agreed that the dress needed to be altered. She said that the dress was off the rack and not made to measure and I would have always been required to have a fitting for it to be perfect. She said that I should have seen it on her website. I was shocked as this was never mentioned to me at any point until this moment. Surely if this was the case she should have mentioned this earlier so I would organise additional fittings leading up to the wedding similar to other bridal stores. She then suggested that I send the dress back to her in Sri Lanka for the changes to be made. I didn’t feel comfortable with this solution AT ALL as the tailoring was complex and she would need to do a fitting in person in order to achieve a satisfactory outcome. She also had the audacity to ask for $280 for it! I told her that I wasn’t happy with that solution and asked if she would refund the dress as it was not as promised but she refused. If it was off the rack as she stated, surely she could simply resell it to somebody else? I then suggested that she contribute to the
cost of the complex alterations required to which she has also refused. I have now spent $3800 on a dress which fits terribly, has beads falling off it and straps which are so short that the breast cups sit at my neck! Not to mention the unnecessary stress it caused in the lead up to my wedding. Honestly do yourself a favour, stick with the professionals and stay away from this shop. Olga will take your money and clean her hands of any responsibility!
