Mum and I had the most incredible weekend at Applegums Hunter Valley with our Jack Russel Lilly. Becky and Neil were fantastic hosts, and thought of every detail to make our weekend away from the city as stress free and relaxing as possible. Lilly had a fantastic time sniffing her way around the property and even made friends with Daisy and the ponies. A wonderful pet friendly place to stay, we will definitely be back. Brie & Lesley

What a wonderful retreat! I am planning my 3rd visit and each visit is longer than the last. Wonderful hosts and the accommodation is excellent. My dogs love coming here and my husband and myself can't think of a better place to come with our fur kids for a relaxing break. Really feels like a home away from home. Thank you Becky and Neil for providing such a lovely, welcoming sanctuary we can all enjoy!

The only disappointment this year was that we didn’t get to go on our usual holiday we’ve enjoyed for the last few years over our anniversary to Applegums!

Neil and Becky are such lovely people who have been kind enough to open up part of their home to not only people but their fur babies too! We were so excited when we first came across this pet friendly cottage! It’s spacey, has a beautiful deck right the way around, and comes with the nicest freshly baked bread!

What a wonderful peaceful place to stay. We had a lovely few days at Applegums with a 18mth old dog Patches. Wonderful bush walks, a paddock for Patches to run in every morning, close to wineries and great fireplace to relax in front of with some wine and cheese. Becky & Neil were lovely and provided everything we needed including a beautiful fresh loaf of bread on our arrival with bacon, eggs, juice and yogurts. We will definitely be back. :-)

Great little getaway from the busy City. The house is wonderful, so cozy ,especially in winter. The property is dog friendly and has a good sized fenced garden. The owners make you fresh bread which is absolutely delicious!!. Becky&Neil are great hosts and they are happy to have a chat with you. AppleGums is one of our favourite holiday rentals and we can’t wait to go for our third time soon!

We had the most fantastic time at Applegums. We booked the accommodation as we had a wedding in the area to attend. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived and wished that we were able to stay longer! It was equipped with everything that you could need, beautiful fresh bread and breakfast essential was so appreciated!

Becky was a fantastic host and so kindly was able to drop us back to our car after the wedding.

We will definitely be returning and cannot recommend highly enough!

We (myself, husband and Odie our 9-year-old Spoodle) had a fantastic stay in this fabulous property. It was such a wonderful experience. The cottage was perfect and the little welcome pack (freshly baked bread) was much appreciated. It is in a cracking location with a nice walk into Wollombi. I would highly recommend a stay here in the charming and perfectly sized cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back to this gorgeous lodge.

Applegums is absolutely fabulous! Being a person who LOVES 5 star accommodation and the best of the best, I was intrigued to try accommodation that was a little more remote and private without all the room service and mini bar 😂

My husband took myself and my daughter here to celebrate my first Mother’s Day.

We were greeted by the owners who are no doubt, THE nicest and most welcoming people. They provided us with some basic information and then we were left on our own for 2 nights/3 days to do as we please. We took our puppy dog up there also. How awesome that you can take your pets! We had a designated area where she could play and then they even provided her a bed to sleep on inside!

The house is well maintained and the atmosphere is relaxing.

We would like to extend our thank you for having us stay at your residence, it beyond exceeded our expectations.

I recently spent the weekend here with some girlfriends. Applegums is a charming cosy cottage surrounded by beautiful views of the Hunter Valley. Perfectly situated with nearby wineries and very close to the village of Wollombi. We had a fabulous time relaxing by the wood fire in the evenings. Our mornings were spent sitting on the balcony, a perfect place to enjoy the morning sun and eat our breakfast of freshly baked bread, bacon and eggs that had been supplied. I would highly recommend this cottage as a great place to stay, and looking forward to my next visit.

We absolutely love Applegums and I honestly wish I could give more than 5 stars. My husband and I, and our puppy dog Poochie, have stayed here four times and each time Becky and Neil have gone above and beyond to make our stay such a delight. The cottage is gorgeous, spacious and very well equipped with; yummy breakfast provisions supplied, DVDs, games, secure fenced area for our puppy dog, everything has been thought of... there’s even aeroguard and citronella candles outside on the deck. We enjoy visiting at different times of the year and seeing Applegums in different seasons - winter would be our favourite though as we can use the fire then! Applegums is in a beautiful historic town called Wollombi were you can find nice restaurants & cafes and lovely boutique cellar doors. Book at Applegums you won’t regret it! Becky and Neil you’ll probably hear from us soon to make another booking :) Emily & Davinder x

We visited Applegums and have the most wonderful memories. Our stay was in the colder months and the fire place is an absolute must after visiting the vineyards close by. We spent our evenings on the deck watching the sun go down in the valley followed by a barbeque then watching a movie by the fire. The home is set in a quiet and peaceful location, for us it was idyllic. The breakfast basket was wonderful, i loved the homely touches of homemade bread. Neil and Beck were kind enough to organise a bottle of champagne for my birthday which went even further in solidifying that Applegums is a cottage worth returning to.

Ive stayed there for a short break away from the madness twice now
And to say it was relaxing would be an under statement
Charming cottage warm inviting atmosphere
Every thing you need and all the peace and quiet you can handle
Although the owners are on site not once on my two stays have i seen them or was bothered by them. The only thing is that the internet service isnt so good but i actually enjoyed the break away from that as well . Would highly recommend the cottage and am hoping to return my self again next year

I have just had a wonderful private and peeaceful few days here with my dogs... Thank you Beck and Neil for making it a relaxing 4 days from the freshly baked bread and delicious bottle of wine (to save the trip into town) those little things make a stay worth while.

We love this place for a weekend getaway with the kids and hound. it's a nice alternative to the Hunter valley, which is still only 25 mins away in the car. The house is comfortable and well maintained. A huge deck area is perfect for lounging the afternoons away with a nice view across the valley. The owner, Becky is amazing; she greets you with fresh baked bread and will introduce the kids to their family of horses (which our daughter loved). There is a huge paddock in front of the property which dogs can run themselves ragged around if the horses aren't in there. Wollombi town is probably a little too far to walk to, so find yourself a designated driver if you fancy a beer in town
