I received a parking infringement for parking illegally and subsequently wrote to council to explain the reason for my actions.
Whether the fine was upheld or withdrawn doesn’t matter; it was the ease of explaining myself to the council via their webpage and the respectful and reasonable response I received three weeks later that displayed NSC willingness to deal with people fairly rather than hide behind bureaucratic red tape. Thank you NSC.

We reported a tree down across our fence from adjoining council property to a very helpful person on the front desk, stating it was not an urgent job but was blocking the fire break. To our surprise it was done the next morning by two wonderful polite council workers. Thank you and a big thumbs up!!

The volunteers at the Tewantin Visitor information centre Pam and Tanya were the nicest people I have ever met so helpful and wealth of knowledge plus maps made our weekend trip. Obviously locals who know the area and care deeply about making tourists feel welcome and presenting the best of Noosa to them

Always attended any enquiry I've had courteously & promptly. Lived here for 40 years & on the whole NSC has done a great job. To those that complain about getting parking tickets, obviously some mistakes can be made.... but come on people, if you park illegally don't blame the inspectors for your stupidity..

I have been a resident of Noosa Heads since 20 years and had only good experiences with our Council and Staff.
Always friendly on the phone and within reason the matter in question was always resolved satisfactory.
I think there are just a lot of Wingers giving bad reviews!

I just wanted to share that I am very appreciative of the help Chris Steel gave me. He went above and beyond to help me out of a difficult situation and was an excellent ambassador for the Noosa Council. Thanks Mate...

Unwittingly parked on grass verge next to a yellow line and received a warning instead of a ticket. Thanks ticket warden!

One our of bus drivers hit a biker and didn't stop to check. He also yelled at one of the ladies who had a large backpack lol. "Ho-Hum" we thought. The other two bus drivers were a delight.

Contacted council with an issue about speed limits on a stretch of road that kids use to go to and from school. Received a call back informing me that only part of the road is their responsibility and that this part is subject to the council's budget. Disappointed that budgets get priority over school kids safety. Our tax money working for us!

Parking at Peregian is being used as a revenue raiser for NSC on every 1st & 3rd Sunday each month when the Peregian markets are taking place. There is no doubt that NSC and/or its employees are specifically trying to target out-of-towners and showing no mercy or leniency for such trivial issues as nose-in compulsory parking.

In case NSC didn't know, this is not how the rest of Australia parks as tail-in parking is by far the safest method if a vehicle has reversing camera and side mirrors. In my case, I stopped with some friends from Brisbane to get a coffee at a local Peregian café and was aware that the parking spot was limited to 1/2 hour only. I was not aware that nose-in was even written below the time on the sign in small letters or even after being fined $94 for this innocuous offence, that this was an offence.

I tried to appeal to NSC with my story only to be told, you broke the law and that is that. I also visited Peregian markets again 2 weeks later to find the NSC parking officer doing exactly the same thing and I counted 6 cars fined in 15 minutes.

Apparently the NSC believes this rule is there as Peregian is a food precinct and they don't want exhaust fumes in cafes. I could (maybe) believe this if an effort was made to warn out-of-towners about this special type of parking and to sign post better if this was such a huge issue. Keep in mind, there are no fumes coming from a parked car!!

Also, attached is a photo of a car nowhere near a shop or café, but ticketed just the same as all parks are mandated as nose-in, not just the ones that are near food outlets.

I also tried to approach the NSC parking officer as he was writing another of his tickets and suggested politely that maybe a warning for people that don't know was a better option. I was told with obvious disdain that "I don't chase people that have broken the law". Good for him, maybe a short note on a windscreen advising why this was a specific policy for Peregian would have been a better method for getting tourists to return to the Peregian markets and Noosa, but that's only my opinion of course.

Personally I have no time for people who create and hide behind policy instead of trying to fix a problem, i.e. if one exists. I'm not sure if exhaust fumes on café patrons was a major issue in Peregian previously, but simply fining the unsuspecting out-of-towner will not fix this issue. NSC, maybe consider using my hard-earned $94 that you took, along with all of the other poor suckers money for the same idiotic offence (without warning or compassion) and use it to educate the public about this issue if it is a problem. Better still, how about not targeting events that specifically attract vulnerable and unaware tourists for your ridiculous revenue-raising fines.

I feel just as sorry for the residents of Peregian and the Market people that likely have no knowledge of this rort or the fact it happens every time the Markets take place. I'm sure they would be devastated to know how NSC is driving away their business.

NSC, if there was a zero rating instead of one star, you would get it for your lack of respect for tourists and tourism.

I was parking at the "pelican beach park" on "gympie Terrace" road. My car was "facing the wrong way"..... I got a fine about 107$!!!????? That's way too much for such a little mistake.
I did not endanger anyone by leaving this spot.
Won't come back to Noosaville. Thanks for ruining my birthday.

typical of a modern council dictated to by money and wealth. despite the location and abundance of natural surrounds, the “biosphere” label is nought but a marketing ploy with little thought or action going to proactively protect the foreshore. no turtle habitat signage, dune barriers or signage. little wonder dog owners and beach visitors trample all over the ‘protected’ areas completely unaware of their impact. stand up council. don’t wait for it to be all gone

Came to Noosa for Christmas holidays and as usual parking in Noosa was a nightmare, but to make matters worse Noosa council decided to open Lion Park directly next to the public carpark, but Not for Free to accommodate the lack of parking that they (council providing) are not providing, instead they were charging $20 just a money grabbing over the Christmas period. Shameful behaviour by the council!

Absolutely hands down the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. Something as simple as obtaining documents on your own property is a convoluted process with a fee and a 15 day turn around. The call centre staff are a stone wall and you can't speak to any department without applying for a call back. Which could take 5 days. What a joke!
