Mentone Racecourse Reserve

Such a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Mentone.
With school holidays coming up there is something for every age group. From watching the ducks swimming to riding on the flying fox to playing on the equipment to climbing trees to practising your tennis just to name a few. Many seats to relax while the children play. There is even bbq facilities.

Beautiful park! I've lived in the area for over 3 years and never knew this place existed! Dogs are allowed on leash and this is a family and child friendly haven! So many things to do spread across the park, soccer goal, football posts, sand pit with diggers, flying fox, swings, slides and heaps of play equipment, horse themed statues and play equipment and plenty of drinking fountains for humans and dogs. Public toilets are accessable and a good amenity to have. There are also a number of gas BBQs and under cover areas as well as seats and picnic tables. There's a lot to explore and lots of little offshoot paths as well as open space and grass areas. Lots of beautiful trees and garden beds, not to mention the lovely lake & wild life (ducks and magpies and other birds). There's also a fountain in the lake as well as two bridges to cross. Good walking track and good parking. Highly recommend.

A lovely spot to stop and have lunch at. Had a great playground for kids, an awesome oval with soccer goals, a tennis wall thing, good condition basketball court and clean public toilets.

The pond is nice, with lots of ducks and other bird life, the gardens are very well looked after.

It's a lovely park with a nice playground. A beautiful lake so wildlife such as ducks thrive.

They just remade the track with sand, which is nice for bike riding and walking. I believe the place is named "racecourse" because the path is intended for racing around.

There are two undercover areas with BBQ facilities. There are two toilets for everyone (gender friendly, disabled friendly and has a changetable for parents with babies).

Pokemon Go fans, rejoice! There are two pokemon gyms, plenty of pokestops, and an easy route that loops around crossing all the pokestops.

There are also a few 45° parking spots (in range of the pokemon gyms!).

The pokemon gyms are fairly often in team rotation, but the locals seem to have an understanding to allow trainers to stay in for their 8hours so they can get their coins.

The place is semi-dog friendly. You can have the dog, but it is an on-leash area. I often see a lot of people walking their dogs on their leashes as I hunt my pokemons.

Lovely afternoon for a family birthday party here. Beautiful park with plenty of places to explore for kids and adults.

I am bias living very close to this park but it's a pretty nice area. Plenty of walking/exercise track around the entire area. Big grass oval for sports. Brick wall for having a bit of tennis or cricket. Basketball ring and area too. Plenty of playground areas, bbq areas for occasions and of course the big lake to feed ducks and other wildlife. Relaxing for groups, solo adventurers or couples looking to be a bit more private. Oh and public toilets that are those self contained metal style ones. Plenty of parking for families too.

Everything kids love, ducks, water, playground, footy and soccer goals, tennis wall, plenty of picnic tables.

Best park ever! Large lake, lots of ducks, huge playgrounds, beautiful walking area and it also has a soccer/football field and basketball court. Always well kept and maintained. It also has a fun little hedge maze for kids and plenty of undercover picnic areas and BBQs. Just be mindful if you have small children there isn't anything between them and the lake so, constant supervision is a must.

Its a great park to take the kids, have a picinic, watch the ducks, kick a ball around or just soak up the rays on a nice day

Great park. Lots to do. Soccer, AFL, tennis wall basketball hoop, lake, BBQ, shade. Can get busy!

Beautiful park with toilets . Plenty of space for picnics. But i think only one shaded area for bbq. Parking space is plenty too. Bring your picnic rug and enjoy summet here.

Absolutely stunning place that you wouldn't expect to be in the south east! A little small for a walking track, but otherwise super aesthetic and lots of things to do. With a great playground, some greenery for picnics or games and some really lovely nature! Strongly recommend!

One of the best parks around. Has 3-4 different kind of swings, complete children playard, tennis wall, walking path, basketball court. The highlight is the pond in the centre which has 2 beautiful bridges and lots of ducks in it. Must go to place with small kids. In terms of amenities, it also has a couple of restroom for the public.

Nice place with big ground and small lake with really nice fountain. Lot of place and small rides for kids and ducks are just adorable and adds to the lake and park. Bridges and are picture perfect and lot of space for small get together or party. Toilets, bbq and tap water completes the set up for nice day out

Beautiful local lake and park – there's a water feature in the middle of the lake, a variety of ducks, and several play areas. An excellent destination for kids!

Affectionately known as the 'Duck Park', my nieces and my toddler cousin love this park! There isn't as much stuff for them to play on but they love the flying fox and they love feeding the ducks.
It has great barbecue areas and a large grassy area perfect for kicking a ball or playing cricket. Public toilets available also...

Incredible and beautiful park with many ducks!! They are adorable with a sweet bridge overlooking the water. There are also many fun things for families including a flying fox in the playground. Such a lovely place to unwind.
