Book Grocer

Love this chain of stores! Bring them back to Sydney!... or maybe don't, because when I had to walk past one going to and from work every day, it cost me a (suitably discounted) fortune. I always head straight to the clearance section coz I like all that weird obscure stuff (and I'm that kind of really annoying, very cheap person). My book catalogue app says I now have 60 books from Book Grocer, so they have definitely helped facilitate my book hoarding issue (I expect to have about 100 years after I retire with nothing to do but read (and drink) so I don't think this is really a problem as such). Anyway, was in Melbourne last week, so straight over to my favourite store for another fix... thanks BG.

This is definitely one of the lovely book shop I have ever been. Almost every books in here are discounted and the mark down one’s are even selling $2-$3. The listenings are classified perfectly and the staff is very friendly who is keen in answering all your questions. Must visit if you are into reading. Who knows, maybe you will find great books for the most affordable price ever!

Loved the prices. I spent a good half hour there. Picked up a book to read during my time here in Melbourne. There were many options to choose from and it covered a lot of genres too. Their bookmarks are super cute!

I always like to pop in for a look when passing this store. I often manage to find a book of interest, and the prices are very good.

Nice little discount book store on Bourke St, a lot of options considering the size or the store and the prices are great. The lady at the counter is friendly and very helpful.

Walked into the store, it was clean and organised. Straight away the staff let us know there was currently a sale on everything. If we weren’t limited by our luggage weight, we definitely would’ve bought more than 3 books.

I also very highly recommend their boxes of books, have a look online-have ordered 5 so far, and got one as a gift-incredible bargains, and out of 6 boxes there was only 3 books I wasn’t j to, so I passed on to family-love the book boxes!

Book Grocer has great prices on new books and is doing a good job in recycling used books too. Save money & trees👍!
