The best place you can find lovely Georgian food, a great atmosphere with live music 4 days per week. I highly recommend this restaurant for all food lovers.

Best (and, sadly, possibly only) place to find this delicious cuisine in Australia, served in a very cute and idiosyncratic place with live music, by a very funny and kind Georgian man! I will travel back from Sydney just to eat here.

Went in with family for mother's day - mum got some tea and I just wanted a drink. He corrected me and told me that I actually wanted pancakes, so I figured why not. After we were done we went up, asked how much we owed and he said "hmmmm, 5 dollars" - we then tried to pay 20 so he gave us 15 dollars change. Love this guy.

If you ever feel homesick, this is the place to come.

Okay okay I know not everyone is from Georgia but we all felt like we walked into the house of a long lost uncle and got welcomed as so. The place is decorated various paper umbrella as light shade and lot of art work ready to purchase. Oh because we went on a Friday night, There is live piano music too!

We looked into the menu and thought we ordered an entree and a main each. What we didn't know was the size of those entree. However no stress, we were told pretty quickly by the owner that it would not be a good idea. So he suggested that he get us an variety of entree to share. That's the best decision for the night. Everything is fresh and delicious. The bread with cheese is really a Georgian thing and you have to try it! And the fish! Basically everything!

For main, we ordered various dishes. Well given the serving is that big, we might have slightly overestimate our stomachs... Oh the dumplings are delicious with that creamy chili sauce (don't let the look fooled you, it got some kick). The other main dishes are also great!

In the end, we all walked out with a full stomach and leftover to take home, and had a few laugh and chat with the owner. Now tell me, how is this not like visiting home with full stomach and food to take home?? Totally recommended this place for anyone who enjoy good food, live piano music and just a relax environment.

The food is great, but it really is elevated by the atmosphere and the host, Timo. His dedication to making sure everyone has a great time and is enjoying themselves. Highly recommended.

Very delicious Georgian foods ( cheese khachapuri was even better than the original one that I've tried in Tbilisi before)
Temo (Teno), the manager, was really friendly. He made our night. Such a great nice gentleman! We were really welcomed.
Prices are reasonable as well.

Stumbled upon Umbrella in Elsternwick (only Georgian restaurant in Melb) this evening. Never interested before but thought let's pop in for one drink & see. The atmosphere was great, interesting deco, live singer / piano player, the food looked AMAZING. We had to stay.

Temo the owner - cooks, cleans, serves, makes cocktails, dish washer, and still finds time to come tell a few jokes & get to know you. He sleeps 4 hours a day, and takes 1 day off a year and enjoys every minute of it.

Highly recommend - we will definately be back!

Amazing experience all round - food is sublime, flavours that tingle and surprise. Lovely ambiance, delightful service. Currently one of the only Georgian restaurants in the country. Do yourself a favour!

What a gem we found. I’m a fan of Georgian cuisine and so happy to find this place. Temo made us feel like at home, the best khinkali I’ve ever tried, Georgian wine and warm welcoming. I would give this place 10 stars. Must visit!!!

I travel by train from St.Albans especially to visit Temo and his bar/lounge. The menu's offerings are enticing - had the Ostri a few weeks ago. More mundane fare such as toasties and steak sandwiches also hit the spot perfectly. Leave your half-finished plate and go sit outside for a change of scenery, then return later to finish off.
So cool.
For a change, a venue where the background music isn't of the doof doof kind.

As a Georgian, so proud to see a Georgian restaurant in Melbourne. I would highly recommend trying our unique and delicious food, including the traditional khachapuri and the khinkali (Georgian dumplings), and if you want to try everything get the banquet – wow, you will get so much food with the banquet! You will not regret it and hopefully from then on you will be able to place Georgia on a map... :)

Temo is the nicest person ever and he is literally a one man army. Best host, best cook, best everything. Highly recommended!

This is my new favourite restaurant! The owner provided the best customer service I’ve received in a long time. We had the banquet and it was fantastic, a great way to try everything. The lamb was hands down the best we’ve ever had in Melbourne. The man who runs this clearly works very hard and is an amazing host. Can’t wait to go back

Really charming Georgian restaurant with an even more charming host. Definitely try the xachapuri. The dumplings were almost the size of my head! Also watch this space as they will have a beer garden opening up soon.
