Food is amazing. I stayed 2 nights with my partner and we enjoyed the place. Simple but confortable.

Champion place, publican is a great man, hats of to Lauren, best bar manager in the country, really comfortable and welcoming place. Meals were fantastic too!!!

Great old pub with many original features untouched. Bit rough around the edges which I like. The BEST steak sandwich

Had a lovely meal at hotel last night. Oysters highly recommend. Staff so friendly and welcoming and owner even had a game of pool with us. End of night they had a courtesy bus to take us back to caravan park. Now that's service😁👍

Thanks for the great stay. We had a great nights sleep comfortable and the meal was just amazing. I wish that some places in Perth would cook as a great meal as I had. Great serve and great value. This is the place to visit for the wild flowers. Many thanks Giuseppe

The food is beautiful. Fresh, well priced and the staff were very welcoming. Clean and spacious inside in a good location. Special mention to bar attendant Tahlia who ran an adhoc footy tip comp for a bit of extra fun. Went back for meals both nights we were in town.

Excellent service, great food, solid prices. The garlic prawns & chicken burger were delicious and the kids loved the burgers & nuggets. Will be back next time we're passing through.

Stopped in for lunch on a wildflower drive 🚗 one of the tastiest Garlic Prawns and delicious beef burger 🍔 friendly service and pleasant country pub atmosphere 😀.

Don't expect any "yuppy stuff" at this country pub, but if you are after a good quality pub meal in a historic building, this is worth the visit!

Great atmosphere, the girl who was behind the bar gave us an amazing experience. Very talkative, told us about the hotel and how the last cyclone affected the building, we loved her!

A bit of history: The original hotel, named The Midland Hotel, was built c.1890. It was a stylish white single storey mud brick building on the present site. The proprietor was William Henry Linthorne who, with his family, lived in the hotel while their home ‘Kia Ora’ was built. One of the most notable guest was Sir Gerald Smith, Governor of W.A., who in 1897, with his Vice Regal party, had breakfast at Linthorne’s Midland Hotel.
In 1908 a new two storey hotel named the Commercial Hotel, was built in the site. The proprietor and licensee was Alfred James Harris, who owned the business until 1938, when it was sold to Harold Cornish. This magnificent building offered a welcome stopover for many a weary traveller and meeting place for all.
In the 1970s its architectural beauty was greatly affected by the removal of the balconies and verandahs, as required by law, deemed to be too close to the road and therefore posed a traffic hazard.
