Great place for a day out with the family. Beautiful setting with lakes and hills all around. Lots of trout and other fish. Easy to catch. The staff are really nice and they clean the fish you catch. You can either cook them there in the many BBQ and grills they have or if you want to take your catch home they pack the fish in ice for you.
Just bring whatever spices you use for cooking fish ( I use some salt, ginger and lemon juice) and enjoy.
Reasonable rates too.

We had a great time today with our toddler, catching her first fish and cooking it up and enjoying a picnic on the beautiful grounds. The staff were really friendly, giving us plates etc for our lunch.
Thanks guys!! We loved the relaxed vibes!

Spent half a day here with a group of friends and had a great time! Prices are fair and they clean and pack your fish for you. Just pay for what you catch. There trouts (rainbow and brook) and salmon to fish. Salmon takes a bit more patience as we found out! Everything you need to fish is provided. There are also barbecues that you can choose to cook up your catch!

Wow, what an amazing place it is!
One of my friends suggested this spot to me - a bug thanks to him.. 😊
I've attached heaps of photos and videos to help people know the beauty of this place..
You pay for the fishes you catch.. the rates are not bad.. as on 11-Mar-23, Salmon was about $32 ish per kg and trouts were about $23 ish/kg..
Only thing that I didn't like was they also charge an entry fee which extra to the fishes you catch - but can't reduce the stars for this..
The staff is excellent and well trained..
We'll be regular visitors here...

We've visited multiple times and keep coming back as it's quite a unique experience. There is a large shaded BBQ area for you to grill the fish you catch so it's a great place to relax and enjoy deliciously fresh trout & salmon with friends and family. For the salmon, the friendly staff also do sashimi (additional $10 service fee per fish applies) and it is awesome watching them expertly carve the salmon into sashimi pieces. And yes, it tastes heavenly. If you just want to catch fish quick to cook there are ponds at the back where you can hook fresh fish in minutes. Overall, an absolute delightful place to visit for, or as part of a daytrip.

Best experience ever! The staff were extremely friendly. Although it was our first time fishing, they explained everything and helped us with anything we needed.

Very enjoyable place where you can do a bit of fishing and also cook your catch. Fishing is not overly difficult depending on the pond you choose. Staff are friendly. Undercover barbecue area , along with benches and tables close by to cook your catch. The place is well maintained. Definitely fun for kids and grown ups.

I've been fishing at Buxton Trout & Salmon Farm for many years. It's a great drive up to Buxton and a really good spot to go fishing for some salmon and trout. An early start is always good here. I always end up taking home so good catches.

Loved my experience as it was the first time fishing for me! It’s kinda obvious you will catch a trout as they cultivate them here, but it’s fun! You can cut and fish and barbecue it there itself and eat. Salmon is a tough catch and needs time. Overall very good experience and fun to do activity.

Enjoyed our first experience there. Didn’t take many photos while we enjoyed being there. Can catch very quickly. Fishing stuff are all provided, clean fish and provide ice etc.. I suggest to bring all cooking stuff if you are thinking of cooking on-site, you can still buy some salts and oil, but limited option. Will be back again.

Fishing rods, bait, bucket all provided with entry fee. $3 extra per fish caught an they gut it for u. Beautiful grassed areas, as well as a covered BBQ area with seating. Great for kids over the age of 3. My 2.5 year old and 18 month old were not interested, however they enjoyed running around the grassed area and watching others catch fish. Very easy to catch fish :)
Gets busy from midday onwards.

The experience we had today was amazing!. Very reasomable entry fee and has spacious parking area. Friendly staff that offers free cleaning for the caught fishes. We really enjoyed fishing and eating our catch. Trout is very delicious cos it is fresh. We tried the challenge lake and it is really difficult to catch a fish especially when it's raining. We returned to the lake which has large rainbow trout so we can have some fish to take home. Overall, it was a memorable and priceless experience. 100 percent sure I'll be coming back to Buxton Trout and Salmon Farm. Cheers! =)

Awesome, fantastic , spectacular and delicious. Fun for the family, and easy if you never fished, takes 2 seconds to learn and 3 seconds to catch your first fish! Will never get fresher, they are then
Cleaned and gutted by persones so you dont have to do the gory part. Had the best and freshest sashimi one could imagine with the salmon we cought. Loved it

Always nice to come here and spend some time fishing. Always manage to get some trout, first time today hooking a couple salmon. Keep what you catch, simple rule. Be mindful what you fish otherwise it can get expensive quick. BBQ facilities are available and you can purchase items such as honey and spices.
