The most magnificent dining experience we have had for a long time and during our week long stay in Port Fairy - this place is an absolute must! The food couldn’t have been more special, so fresh, beautiful flavours and just simple food done incredibly well. A menu with something for everyone, it was difficult to choose as there was so many good options! We were served by Donna who was so lovely, engaged and welcoming! She couldn’t have taken better care of us, she recommended great wine and helped decide what dish to choose. The place itself has a beautiful warm ambience, and wasn’t overly loud or too much with each couple of tables separated in dining rooms throughout the restaurant. Dish highlights were the seafood chowder, the eye fillet steak and the chocolate profiteroles. You will not be disappointed with this place!

What a little gem of a place this is. We went in expecting good things as it had been recommended to us, we of course opted for the seafood chowder (amazing) and the seafood platter. It was fresh and more than enough for my husband and I all grilled, nothing fried! Highly recommend

Very tasty dinner here last night. The seafood chowder was superb. Good sized mains, fish of the day and lamb rack and some delicious profiteroles to finish.
Poor lady on front of house was by herself and so very busy, however we had a nicely paced meal and some very good value wine.
If your looking for a front of house job I believe they are hiring!

From the moment we went through the door, we were treated like regulars. The food was amazing and everyone was so welcoming and brilliant. Blakes is a gem. Thank you all and I hope to be back soon!

The seafood was super fresh and perfectly cooked. Service staff were fantastic and very knowledgeable about the produce and recommended an excellent wine. Couldn’t be happier and highly recommend

Blakes lived up to its reputation in past reviews. The seafood is devine. Their signature dish is seafood cowder as an entree. It was excellently prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had the pan seared scallops and prosciutto, magic!!.
If you are not. Fan of seafood Blakes has plenty of other options on its short menu to please the most discerning tastes. For main I had the charred lamb rump. It was well cooked and presented.
Wine list is loyal to local producers. Great cocktails and selection of beers available. Its a delightful restaurant. The Matradee was very warm friendly and attentive.

Blakes is the best restaurant in Port Fairy. We ate their twice. The clam chowder is magnificent and their fish main courses were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is like a private dining room and not too noisy. Their prices are very reasonable for what I consider a 5 star restaurant.

Convenient location, diverse menu, gourmet food and good portion sizes. A must if you're visiting Port Fairy and want to indulge in some fresh seafood and fine dining. Make sure you book in advance as it's quite a small place with limited bookings.

We had a planned weekend away and booked at Blakes well in advance after reading reviews and we were not disappointed! The chowder was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted! Service was amazing and wine list impressive. We will be back!!

The service was amazing. Honest, accommodating and very helpful. Showed us the very best of Port Fairy hospitality!!

Superb hospitality and food. We had the seafood chowder and prawns with prosciutto which were sublime. Then the fish of the day which we chose perch. So flavoursome yet delicate. We were so surprised by the complimentary glass of bubbles for our 21st wedding anniversary. Very special touch.

Best seafood in Port Fairy. The seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection. The serving for seafood chowder was a tad too small, would have loved to face more of the chowder in one serving. Service was good even though there was a crowd. Remember to make a reservation to avoid disappointment.

Fantastic night at Blakes with my parents. Donna and her team on the floor were fantastic. You could tell one of the waiters was new but was being carefully guided by the other members. The food was fantastic, everyone loved their meal. A fantastic celebration of the regions amazing produce! Can't wait to visit again. Refreshing to have such a genuine and authentic experience at such a popular location.

Both had seafood chowder- magnificent! Lamb rump for him - tender and flavoursome, orange ruffy with lentils and spinach for me - beautiful flavours. Serves very generous, could not fit another thing in!
I can understand how this restaurant has been going for 9 yrs. We are from Adelaide but when we visit pt fairy we eat here and are never disappointed. Thankyou for a beautiful dinner.

Superb food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Would highly recommend for a special night out.

A lovely venue with different dining areas available to make dining more intimate. Food is very generous serves, flavoursome and beautifully presented. Staff are professional, prompt and friendly. Our table was last to leave and very Merry after two bottles of delicious red and not once were we made to feel hurried.

We came to Blakes and were blown away. We booked with our 20 month old not realising that it might not of been the best choice to bring a toddler but they were so accomodating. Insisting that we sat and ate our dinner, even when our son fussed. Said we had nothing to worry about. Service was amazing but that seafood was to die for. Will absolutely be back (without our son because the wine was delish!).

Amazing!! We called up last minute, long shot I know but hoped for a miracle as this place books out fast and for good reason.
The best service and very friendly and informative. The food was to die for!!
Highly recommend, book ahead of you don’t want to be disappointed or try your luck and see if there might be an opening.
