Moonlight Bay

Excellent free camp.
No facilities.
Road in via moonlight bay was excellent, with the last turn leading on to some pretty serious corrugations. Going slow was the order of the day. We towed our 19 ft semi off road caravan in.
Calm beach for (unsuccessful) fishing and a swim.

DOG ALLOWED - that’s the first thing that a dog owner wants to know. Second of all is a FREE campground. Third: yes, it is windy but not too crazy. Perfect sunrise spot. The beach was stunning and so quiet.

Great place to camp! Can either camp on the beach or up on the hill. Can get a bit windy at times though

A stunning place to set up camp for the night. Free camping at its absolute best!
Be warned though, 4WD only.

Moonlight Bay, south of Tumby Bay on the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula in SA.

9km corrugated road to the site, 2wd perfectly ok if you take it slow. no facilities, so take everything you may need Sometimes can be quite windy. But camp further along towards the end and tuck in behind the sand dunes.

it really is amazing. Clear water, rocks, soft sand and camping.

It’s too beautiful an area to lose due to the few that leave rubbish behind. 🥲

Absolutely stunning! Well worth a visit or stay!

If staying overnight don't leave any food or your car open for any amount of time as many mice are present here!

Loads of space and we were lucky enough to have a full moon which truly gave a good reason for it to be called moonlight bay. There were several other campers here but as there was loads of space we hardly notice them.

Great spot. Quite even though there were a lot of campers. Slight breeze was beautiful

This was such a nice place, bit windy, but your near the ocean so u have to expect it!

Moonlight Bay is a stunning jewel in the EP. Would absolutely recommend this slice of Heaven,,, anytime

great camp

A lovely little camping area. Very tight if busy and you have a large van . Would suggest parking and have a walk around before committing to some of the tracks . The area is exposed to southerly winds and weather but if you get a spot behind the dunes it's comfortable. There's a couple of small beaches and some really interesting rocks to explore.

Great place to free camp need to be self contained as nothing there you have a rough road in partly corrugated nice views but windy.
