Stony Rise Campground Campsite

Booked via Parks SA website, this was an ideal family week away.
Loads of native flora and fauna, 15 minute walk through the conservation reserve to the Southern Ocean waterfront, fire pit in each campsite and just 3kms from Robe Town. Loved it.

Very clean camp, drop toilets in good conditon, stayed start of week no one else there. 15 min walk to the beach. Stayed on site 1 seemed to have best shelter from wind, but see's the sun later, good little fire pit area (bring your own wood).

Great spot

Site? 2. Very narrow 3x3m site. Good shade on the northern side.

Access? Bumpy ride in, no dramas in a 2WD but you'll want decent clearance for the ruts up and down the hills.

Toilets? 2 (men/women) drop toilets. No paper provided. Not bad condition.

Nearby? Beach is 12 minute walk. Hilly 4WD track. You'll want decent tyres as its soft sand and reasonable dunes.
Beach is sand with lots of rocks. Surfing seems decent and waves are big.
Robe town brewery is a 20 min walk out of the camp and the centre of town is 40 min walk.

Heaps of bees, wasps and ants. We left our water away from the campsite as they were swarming it. Got heaps of ants inside rooftop tent and car (no food or water kept in either) so something obviously attracted them.
Sites are pretty private with nice big bush between them, especially site 3.

You'll get a lot of the surfers on the weekend stop in and use the dunnys on their way too/back from the beach so traffic can get a little busy on the 1 car width road.

Nice area but probably won't be back, rather spend a bit more and use a holiday park in town.

Small sheltered camp sites. Toilets available and close to camp sites. Good access to 4WD tracks and beach driving.

Good spot overall and easily accessible. Highly variable sizing on the camp sites. Ours was tiny while others were over triple the size

Need a vehicle with high clearance.. I did the track with my camry but it's a risk

Small campsite. Dusty ground. Good place for 4WD experience

Great bit of coast to explore with a number of good campsites.
