Melbourne Pathology Moe

I have a rare medical condition and for this reason I cannot wear a mask. I was waiting in line on a seat in the waiting room for a blood test and suddenly the door of Melbourne Pathology swung open. A nurse approached me very aggressively out of absolutely left field and barked at me 'Do you have a mask?' I was so shocked as I had never seen her before that I answered 'No I have a medical exemption.' She grunted and then harshly demanded 'What for?' I told her my condition whilst the rest of the patients in the waiting room stared. The woman grunted again and flounced back into the room. Not only was it none of her business as I was actually waiting in line for the other pathology lab, but she shamed, embarrassed and treated me like an animal for no good reason. Clearly some busybody had complained about the fact I had no mask but to be treated like this is absolutely unbelievable and incredibly unprofessional. She had absolutely no right to ask under the CHO directives for a start and to attempt to intimidate and berate me for my condition is utterly deplorable. After I had finished my appointment at the other lab I noticed a second nurse had come from this door and so I approached her to ask the name of the first nurse who had been so unprofessional and judgemental. She threw her arms out as I approached her to ask her and demanded rudely 'Stand back!' as if I was some disease ridden animal. She wouldn't give me the surname of the original nurse but did share her name was Brenda. Both individuals were unprofessional, unkind, completely out of their scope and have caused me untold mental anguish. I would be wary of using this service as clearly the staff are not trained in politeness, bedside manner, are harsh, judgemental, angry and unprofessional. They also don't appear to have a clear understanding of CHO directives. Very disappointed.
