Excellent food and all the dishes were very tasty. The restaurant is very small as part of the grocery store so not more than 5 tables. They have lot of items in their menu and we tried chicken 65, veg briyani, ghee roast and onion uthapam. The chicken 65 was the best and it was as good as eating in India. The chef was very friendly and was coming out and having a chat with all the customers. So I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been to this place many times before to buy groceries and I really wanted to try their South Indian cuisine. Today I ate the Chef Special Dosa and Pav Bhaji and I am really impressed by the quality of food and taste which is well balanced and very authentic.

The ambience is so great that you feel like home and specifically the Chef is very humble and friendly person who makes your overall experience so special.

Thank you so much

The food was stunning. Some of the best South Indian food I have had. The Dahi Puri was incredible, each mouthful was packed with flavour. The Paneer Masala Dosa was also delicious, perfectly crispy with great sides. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Thanks so much for the incredible lunch!

Ordered the charminar dosa, rava dosa, and Chennai masala chai. The dosas were crispy and delicious, the chutneys are clearly freshly home made, and the sambar is amazing. The chai was one of the best I've had - was so tempted to order a second one!

The owner/chef came over to ask how our food was, which as a dosa lover and fan of South Indian food more generally, turned into a lovely long conversation about food. When I mentioned I love rasam, but can't find it anywhere, he offered to make me some fresh on the spot, at no charge, despite it not being on the menu.

And that was amazingly delicious too. Can't wait to return.

Awesome place to chill out. No judgments on customers and food were really good, just like home. When we ordered tea and it was missing sugar the server was not only apologetic but instantly bought some sugar packs for me. Really great Dosa and sprout Idly if you wanna visit an Original Chennai taste do give them a chance.

I recently visited Taste of Chennai with my family and was pleasantly surprised by the authentic and homely flavors. The Navaratna Uttappam is a must-try, with perfectly balanced flavors and textures. The chutney and sambar were also excellent, adding to the overall experience.

For all dosa fans, this is a great place to try. Be mindful that it might take a little time for them to prepare your order, but it's definitely worth the wait. Highly recommend!

Hole in the wall southern indian place off plenty road. Ordered the Masala Dosa, and Chai tea. The dosa was flavourful, nicely cooked with the crispy edges. Chai tea was brewed hot (nearly burnt my mouth) but definitely tasty with all the spices. Worth a visit!

I recently dined at this fantastic restaurant and was blown away by the delicious Paneer Masala Dosa and Idli Vada combo. The flavors were exceptional and provides Indian taste. The staff's warm and friendly demeanor added to the enjoyable experience. Additionally, their offering of Indian groceries is a convenient bonus, making it a one-stop destination for authentic cuisine and essentials. The food is authentic, hygienic and delicious!

My friends and I ordered the chicken biryani, natu kodi, mini meals and a plate of idlis.

The chicken biryani was so good that my husband packed a second one to takeaway!

The idli was served with 2 types of chutney and sambar. The sambar was absolutely delicious!

For the dosa, the owner asked how thick/thin we would like it!

We also had filter coffee, which was very authentic. This restaurant has just accured 4 regular customers. So happy with our meal! 😊

Great Food, Great Service. Today uncle was working very hard by himself. He served so many people by himself, still maintaining the food quality and service time. I'm Very impressed. Will be visiting again very soon.

Best of the Best places ever. No doubt, there are waiting times but if you want fresh and guaranteed mouth watering food, this is entirely worth it. Additionally, they are dealing with retail grocery. The best south indian place to visit is taste of Chennai only. Delectable, Palatable, Scrumptious, Mouth watering and what not. Must visit, best south indian place ever :D

They have the best tasting biryani ever . This is closer to the Chennai style food you can get. A very thalapakatti style biryani with great quantity and good portion of meat . Their kothu is great and curries are very Chennai style . Don’t miss this place .

Been craving for South Indian food and stepping into Taste of Chennai, it felt like I was back in Chennai. Tried 3 dishes: Mysuru masala dosa, Vada Pav and Sambar Idly. They were all served nice and hot. The dosa was crispy and served with authentic Tamil Nadu Sambar. The Vada Pav had the perfect kick of spice. We loved the food. And the staff was very friendly.
They even have a little grocery store where you can buy Indian spices.
I highly recommend giving this place a try!
