Blue River

This lovely restaurant opened especially for lunch on Sunday for our large family function. The decor is modern and clean, with tablecloths and nice wine glasses. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was top quality Thai food with a variety of dishes ranging from fish cakes, fried rice, spicy beef salad, deep fried fish, prawns, omelette, grilled beef and chicken and of course the the crispy pork (delicious!). All in all a wonderful lunch at a delightful restaurant. Would highly recommend it.

The servers were extremely nice and kind. Not only that but the food was awesome and hot. It took a short time to prepare so I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant.

We are regulars at Blue River and can’t rate it more highly. It’s a family run business with authentic Thai dishes and a really lovely ambience. The three taste prawn dish is a family favourite and their crying tiger salad is so fresh and delicious. Service is always delightful. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re a local or new to the area.

This is the best Thai Restaurant in Melbourne which I always go there and have a special time with my friends and family. Service was excellent and friendly.

There are a few really good Thai restaurants in melbourne this is not one of them, this is two levels above this is a fantastic Thai restaurant! Finally a local Thai restaurant that knows how to cook their food, charge reasonable prices, are polite and knowledgable and above else, cook fantastic food with generous portions!!
Great decor for the solo diner and are attentive to your needs. Spring rolls and crispy calamari and the rice are excellent as too the stir fry veggies and pork belly with lemon grass, spicy, crispy, fragrant. The red curry beef, the massaman and the Thai green curry are some of the best I have ever had as too th e Tom ka Kai :)
Well done, forget the rest , this is my number one and only Thai restaurant I am going to from now on! Such lovely staff.!!!! :)

I would give them ten stars if I could. Hand down the Best food and service I have ever had. The waitress was prompt, polite and offered excellent suggestions. You can tell that they really love to cook and that they put their heart into their food. I would recommend Pad Thai and curry puff. Absolutely AMAZING.

This place is honestly one of the best Thai places I've been to in the suburbs. Unlike most with cheap decor and plastic tables, Blue River has beautiful and sturdy furniture, quality decor, and lovely piano tunes providing ambience. Food was all truly delicious (mixed entree, beef massaman curry, and special fried rice), affordable prices, BYO, and the hostess was extremely pleasant. It's also quite close to Balwyn Cinema, so perfect after an early film. What more could you want?

The food is deliciously authentic, satisfies the taste buds perfectly and is really well plated. The ambiance and music also contribute to an excellent dining experience. Kudos to the chef and the whole team!

Service is so friendly, courteous and prompt – we feel at home here. Food is always consistently great, freshly prepared and wonderfully cooked. We usually eat veggie spring rolls and then a selection of veggie stir fries and green prawn curry. Top off with coconut ice cream. 5 stars all day.

Amazing, fresh Thai cuisine! The best in the area by far. You can tell all the dishes are made with love and from high quality ingredients. I would recommend the Crying Tiger Salad, its the best!

Wonderful taste of authentic Thai food! 👍 Actually it was even better than ones I have tried in Thailand before. It is a must to try this lovely restaurant. Highly recommend. Such a nice place to treat someone or for family gathering.

What a wonderful little Thai restaurant in Canterbury. Really pleased with this find. Food is fantastic fresh and some genuinely good dishes. Chef and wait staff were friendly and good.

Discovered this restaurant about 2 months ago and been back probably 4 times now
Very fresh food and a few out of the ordinary Thai menu
In particular the hock of the tamarind ribs.
