Vargas Restaurant & Bar

What a pleasant dinner experience here at Vargas... And the superb customer service provided by Akenese was 5 star, such a caring and friendly server.

Dinner was delicious as well, steak was cooked to perfection and the salad with chips was the perfect accompaniment.

Will definitely be back next time I am in Melbourne.

Fabulous staff, friendly and accommodating. They had kids activity packs, which were very welcomed, to keep them entertained. Fast service. Dined there twice.

Keeping in mind it is a hotel restaurant and bar, we were pleasantly surprised during our stay at Holiday Inn. Food was excellent, served quickly and staff were attentive. Every staff member greeted my baby and spoke to him which was lovely, and the provision of children's crockery and cutlery, including bibs was a great addition! After a big day of travelling, eating here was just too easy. My one gripe is that the wine was quite expensive, however I just enjoyed a beer instead!

Sat down just before 2030 ordered my dinner and drink, entree came out quite quick and was very tasty. Finished the entree then waited 40 minutes till there was only 4 people left asking how was my meal, then explained waiting for my main. Steak was very rushed and overcooked... next time I'll just order it to my room

Food good. But i felt jugded for eating my food to fast. Heard other guest whispering and laughing. "He is stuffing his food".

It's a hotel restaurant and bar... So it is pretty much what you would expect.. Average at best.. My partner ordered the the duck grazing platter - I would not recommend this at all! On the menu, it sounds delicious, in reality, is it hugely disappointing. I ordered (a gluten free version of) salt and pepper calamari as this was the only thing on their menu that was "sort of" gluten free.
Red Wine list is limited - one pinot noir, and lots of Shiraz and Cab Savs.

Worst experience, the person behind us was seated first we assumed because he was in a suit and better dressed. Then we were told we could order from the bar, ie he didn’t want us in his restaurant.
