Chicken Or The Egg Cafe

We were very impressed with our first visit today. The service was warm, friendly and efficient and our drinks and meals were served quickly. The tables and chairs were clean and neat, and parking was easy. The food was outstanding - the serves were generous and everything was fresh and tasty. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Please thank your team for a wonderful experience - we're not local but will definitely be back next time we visit Melbourne.

Lovely atmosphere. Outdoor seating available with covers. Nice setup inside. Very welcoming and friendly customer service. Our neighbours foods all looked so delicious. My client didn’t have much of an appetite so we ordered cabinet sweets. We enjoyed it. Staff were very lovely! Definitely stop by if you’re on or visiting Maling Road.

I had a delightful breakfast at Chicken or the Egg cafe today. The Buddha Bowl with Housemade Falafels was a tasty and wholesome choice, and the Turmeric Crab Omelette was a unique and flavorful twist on a classic. Great service and a satisfying meal!

I loved everything bout this place .. foods was amazingly fresh, fast service even in peak hours, waiteres always put smile on their face greet customers with happy face even they are tired. I’m a happy customer.

Always a lovely experience. Friendly staff and tasty food. We have rocked up towards the end of service and the staff were accomadating given then circumstances. Nice and busy little local cafe.

Heard great things about Chicken or the Egg and to be honest, it lived up to what I heard about it. The food is not only delicious but they’re able to cater for dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Have to say my favourites are their smoothies, eggs benny and their mushroom dish for lunch. Service is top notch and friendly which is always a plus!

I didn’t order anything too fancy, however I found it to be a cute cafe in a great location with good coffee, friendly service and well priced brunch.

Toast of Paris (vegan) was a fantastic gastronomic sensation. Do yourself a huge favour and go have one! I also had a scrumptious mug of flat white...friendly staff... interesting, delicious menu... casual with quality.

Three of us came to the Chicken or the Egg Cafe on a Sunday for lunch. Among the three of us, we ordered the pancakes, baked eggs and corn fritters. Firstly, the customer service was exceptional and the waiters were very attentive and asked to make sure we were enjoying our meals. Secondly, the food was very delicious and the meal sizes were adequate; each meal was definitely worth what it cost. Thirdly, the place was absolutely bustling which is a strong testament to the popularity of the cafe. Fourthly, we were allowed to split the bill when paying for the meals at the end, which was very helpful. Thank you to the 'Chicken or the Egg Cafe'. I will DEFINITELY be back again to try a different meal next time.

Update: As promised in my previous review, I sure did come back to Chicken or the Egg. Two of us came here on a Tuesday for lunch and we ordered the snapper tacos and the salmon (it was a fish kind of day). Once again, I want to commend the staff for their attentiveness to us, checking up frequently to make sure everything was okay. Thank you for the delicious food and the 10/10 experience!

Came here to catch up with friends. Great coffee and amazing breakfasts (very colourful and tasty). Friendly staff. The cafe is so lovely, minimalistic and has natural light coming through,that brightens the place. We had a great time , enjoyed the food and drinks. Will definitely be visiting again !! :)

Very friendly and welcoming staff, and a beautiful atmosphere. The food was so delicious, and there are some good halal options available (vegetarian, vegan). Came in on my own and forgot to bring my card with me. They were very understanding, and were kind enough to allow me to return the next day in order to pay the bill.

Hands down the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. Coffee was great too. Young friendly staff. One improvement that this cafe needs is good sound absorbing decors, perhaps some curtains. Too much echo when the place is full of customers, we could hardly hear each other across our table.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. The staff are super amazing, hats off to Paul and the team. And can I say, the Waffle Chicken was to die for, winner winner chicken dinner

Wonderful place with an interesting menu, breakfast is served until reasonably late which can sometimes be a struggle to find further outside the city, most notable items we have tried since it opened are the bircher muesli, southern fried chicken and waffles pancakes and corn and zucchini fritters. Have always found the staff to be attentive and friendly.

Great spot for a Sunday brunch! Super nice staff, no wait time and the coffee / food was exceptional 👌🏽 keep it up guys!
