Service really good
They do QR code so you can order/call waiter as needed, very simple

Train selection are good, lots of variety, they're all taste really nice and fresh.
The uni (sea urchin) boat is one of my favourite.
A warm sake always a good companion 👍

Been to Sakura Kaiten handful of times in the past few years and it's always been an excellent experience and one of my favourite sushi train restaurants in Melbourne. Stand-out is the customer service, love hearing the Japanese greetings! Food is fresh with a great variety in the menu. The price has gone up a little in the last few years but nothing unreasonable for good quality sushi.

My longstanding favourite sushi train in Melbourne!

Friendly, welcome staff. Awesome wall art, Dragon Ball Z figurines.

Get ready to line up for a short while during busy periods, it's more popular than the number of seats allows.

Venue Name and Pricing:
Sakura Kaiten II - this is the second location in the S.K. sushi train offering - the flagship was located on Collins St, serving up a high end atmosphere (now on Lonsdale St.)

Despite the more casual vibe of this second iteration, the prices are the same as the flagship.
Not unreasonable. Certainly worth the cost, but the S.K. family sits at an upper price point for sushi train options in Melbourne.

Great selection of sushis on the train, and everything you ordered came quickly and on the little train which was lots of fun to use! The scallop nigiri was definitely the highlight. There is a 1hr dining time to be aware of however!

Absolutely killer sushi train. All the plates are hand-made fresh and grabbable the instant it hits the conveyer. The grilled salmon nigiri and grilled scallops are straight up divine. The mochi and desert options were also really unique and definitely worth experiencing. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth the splurge for a special occasion

It can be said that Melbourne city range rotating Japanese food ceiling, tuna belly fat rich flavor, beef takayi sauce taste is relatively light but the meat is very delicious, elephant mussels can really taste the umami of the sea, if there is a separate elephant mussel sushi, tofu may be the most ordinary one, but after I ate two in a row, I also experienced the unique aroma of tofu and sauce.

I can say that I come here a lot, almost once a week, but this time I need to apologize to the whole team. I mistakenly thought yesterday that a separate order of sushi was served along with a sushi plate that needed to be priced, I'm really sorry, my memory seems to confuse the metal plate with the sushi plate, I have to say that the food is still so good, I will add a 20% tip as compensation next time I go.
But I've already moved, and I probably won't come back to this one again, which is a pity.

Best sushi in the world, bad service

We’ve been all over the world and this was the best sushi we’ve ever eaten. Simply incredible from the simplest rolls to nigiris. Mouthwatering, you can tell they’re using very fresh ingredients.

The service wasn’t really the pinnacle of hospitality. We asked for water and ginger and we felt like we should’ve apologized for our existance. We didn’t really feel wanted in there and all our requests seemed like a burden to the waitresses standing around. When we asked for more ginger we got some with a slightly grim face and a notice that if we want more we’ll have to pay. Obviously we’re willing to pay as we’ve come to a restaurant to enjoy a nice evening…. Really a shame, but we’ll be back to annoy them, as the sushi was worth it

Great sushi train experience, works really well with kids (so long as they can sit on a tall stool). Easy to spend quite a bit but that’s the nature of sushi train. Whole family loves coming here.

Absolutely amazing! The best of all sushi varieties in Melbourne CBD. Very fresh, and tasty!

My favs: Grilled Teriyaki Salmon with cream cheese (must try) and Grilled teriyaki scallops!

(Slightly long wait time expected to get in, but definitely worth it)

Great range of fresh sushi etc presented beautifully. Quick, funky, quality lunch on the go. Ate in, ate our fill, and gone inside 30-45 mins. Better than the run of the mill places without the full on restaurant pomp and price. Recommended.

Loved the variety and quality of the food here! Everything we’ve tried were so delicious but they’re definitely on the pricier end.

First time visit. Sushi train looked sad I'm sorry to say. We eat with our eyes first and I'm sorry to say it wasn't amazing looking. I'd suggest working on the presentation as the actual food is quite good.

This is a really cool restaurant in the city, the restaurant isnt huge but really really cosy.
Love the sushi, taste really original, not something fancy or normal, the sushi seem basic, but taste really yum. Worth it.
Love the service, they are really polite and sweet.

First sushi restaurant in melb I have been too. Was a friday night and very busy but we were lucky to be able to walk right in and get a table straight away. Kids enjoyed the food and the experience. I also enjoyed the food, but will say the spicy options were not hot at all.

Highlight is the sushi bus!

🍣🚅 sushi train!

📝: Are you one for sushi trains? I definitely am! Sakura Kaiten is one of the classics I turn to when it comes to my sushi cravings. One dangerous thing is that the bill comes out way more than expected every time I eat sushi trains because I just want to keep grabbing more 🤣!

My first time at a sushi 🍣 train.
Loved every minute, a fantastic selection.
Although, it's easy to get carried away and try almost everything.
Party of 4 was $300.
A little more than we expected.
Still, I will definitely 💯 be back!

Had Saturday night dinner here. It’s a busy sushi train that has an okay variety of dishes to choose from. The staff are friendly and always busy. Definitely a good place for casual and fairly affordable dinner. The anime pieces add a unique touch.

My favourite Sushi train place in Melbourne. They offer great variety, sushi is always fresh and when you order off the menu, a double decker bus delivers it. On the pricey side though but worth it for the quality.
