Hahndorf's Fine Chocolates Nth Balwyn

This particular café was recommended to me by my sister, who is a frequent customer there, and I must say that it far exceeded even her glowing recommendation. The coffee and milkshakes are both stellar across the board, and the staff there are not only welcoming and capable, but friendly to talk to, too.

Specifically, the waitress with striking red hair which served me on my most recent visit did a phenomenal job, service was quick, hospitable and welcoming, and the complimentary chocolate was unexpected and added an extra bright note to an otherwise already phenomenal visit. I will be sure to return time and again, and my compliments to the staff.

Always welcoming staff and well made hot chocolates and espresso coffee. You receive a complimentary choccie with your beverage, I usually go for Devonshire Cream. They have five packs of a variety of choccies too. The choccies are pretty nice quality and comes in a good variety of flavours, some of which are limited edition in that they're phased in and out. Most of these five pack types you receive an espresso freebie, which comes with a "piggy-backed" free choccie which is good value. ☕🍫 Staff are friendly and polite, sometimes you need to wait a while for your beverage to be served, due to how busy it is in here - but it's always worth the wait.

BEFORE COVID-19:
The picture below was a photo before the virus happened. I ordered a Mocha and it was fantastic! They gave me a free handmade chocolate to try (Dark Chocolate Mousse) and it was so good!

DURING COVID-19:
I was working nearby and tried to have some chocolates. I had a Dark Chocolate Caramel and (again) a Dark Chocolate Mousse. The Caramel one tastes so amazing. I know now where to go to have my chocolates.

The staff was very helpful in walking me through the selection of handmade chocolates, too.

Regularly go here for very good quality coffee, a friendly atmosphere and excellent service. The chocolates are top quality and delicious

The milkshakes here are awesome. Just make sure you get the one to have there and not take away. If you have it there, you get the shaker with the remainder of the ice cream to finish off. The free complimentary chocolate Isa nice touch. Cheers 👍

Staff always polite here, the complimentary chocolate makes the coffee that much better (freckle pot is my go to) and milk shakes are delicious. Plenty of chocolate gifts available on shelf as well.

I love this store. I love both the hot chocolate and iced chocolate drinks. I don't know of anywhere that could match or better them. I also love the free chocolate that comes with the drinks. If I go away on holiday I can't find any place that comes close to Harndorf.

It’s been my go to place for 15 years with friends and on my own when I need time out.
Quality hot chocolate, milkshakes and chocolates ( I don’t drink coffee).
Some girls are young.. yes (as stated in previous reviews)…. but at least they are working and learning. Encourage the girls … don’t put them down for showing initiative!

Best Staff and Priced Iced Mocha's/ Chocolate/Coffees out of ALL the Hahndorf's Fine Chocolates. Love that they are Open Later too. We used to Ride up here along the Koonung Trail when the Kids were little. Now that they're in Secondary School they can Ride themselves to get one. Plus the Best thing about this Cafe is you always get to Choose a Complimentary Chocolate with your Drink or Food Purchase.

Wonderful range of chocolates and gifts. Really appreciate the complimentary chocolate with each coffee purchase. This shop has been a favourite in the community for years for good reason. It's a great place to meet for a coffee and the staff are lovely.

Those are some fine chocolates! Had the chocolatiest mocha ever here. Others enjoyed their milkshakes and lattes! Will be back.

The best chocolate milkshake you can find! Well done Hahndorf. Seriously for value serving and amazing quality chocolate with just the right amount of ice-cream.. it's nearly a thick shake. No dodgy chocolate syrups here. Just real chocolate shaved. Brilliant!

Love the ice coffees very generous helpings. They give you the refill as well. Love the chocolates as well. Giving a free one is a real bonus. I drive from carnegie to go there with my friends.

Amazing artisan chocolate and rich chocolate drinks of hot and cold. Very friendly staffs and comfortable atmosphere to enjoy their lovely sweets.
