Cook is a bit slow, but the taste is worthy of the waiting time. Small restaurant ran by a couple. Good combination of food within the Bento box.

Great, homey feeling spot with delicious food. All the cone shaped sushi rolls we tried were exceptional (especially tempura prawn). Really enjoyed the una don too.

Tempura prawn handrolls are a staple whenever I visit and I've been coming here for over 12 years now. Prices have slowly risen (as we all know in 2023) but the quality of the food has maintained. Love this place and hope it's around for at least another 12 years.

Parking around the corner behind the petrol station. Has 4 tables that can sit 2-3 people so has usually been a takeaway option.

Arguably the best sushi in Melbourne, I never cease to be impressed with the quality of food even after 9 years of patronage. Always made fresh, their hand rolls are generously filled with premium sashimi grade salmon/tuna and worth the wait. Highly recommended!

Delicious and very well priced. Ordered the Tori No Tatsuda Age (deep fried chicken with salad) for entree and a Katsu Curry for main! Both were good size servings and plenty to eat. Nice little family run business with great food!

Great little place to have some value Japanese meals. I tried sit down the other night, as they have stopped being on Uber Eats, and found the place a little cold, but that did not stop the enjoyment of the meal.

Friendly staff, food comes out on proper plates and bowls with chop sticks.

Cannot fault the food or staff.

I use to come here 10 years ago. I always remembered it to be delicious sushi and food. Came in today, ordered hand rolls and takoyaki they were filling and delicious. Happy to see a favourite of Balwyn still open and providing delicious food.

Ordered tempura prawn handroll($3 each) and, previously, tonkatsu bento ($12.50 lunch special). Both great value for money and tasted fantastic.

Bento has a very generous serving of side dishes all of which are all tasty. Definitely my go-to if I have time for sit-in.

Warning that sushi has a lot of the glutinous rice which I thoroughly enjoyed but may not be ideal for people watching their carb intake.

Often, handrolls are not displayed but are made upon request, which means non-immediate service but results in some nice, fresh, hot sushi especially for tempura.

Seaweed is given separately (to maintain crunchiness) so customers have to roll themselves which is both a novel and potentially messy experience.

Enjoy complimentary tea or any of their well-priced cold drinks. Will be back when looking for convenient and cheap eats. Only issues are meh-worthy service and cash-only.

My kids and I eat here almost every Tuesday/Thursday for lunch. The food is consistently delicious and the service great is very friendly. My kids love it there and rolling the nori on their own hand rolls makes it fun for them and they keep coming back for more. Highly recommended

One of my favourite takeaway joints in the area. We order from here at least once a fortnight and the serving sizes are great and food is always fresh. My personal favourite is the teriyaki beef bento box

Had takeaway yesterday from asukatei. Had the salmon avo roll, spicy tuna avo roll, takoyaki, teriyaki chicken, and potato croquettes. Rolls are big, and really fresh, totally loved them! Same with the takoyaki and the croquettes. All was really tasty, done quickly. I will definitely get takeout again. Not really the place for dine in, but banging takeaway and very reasonable prices. Thank you Asukatei!

I got cripsy chicken and I think avocado sushi, and honestly one of the best pieces of sushi I've had in a long time! The chicken was actually crispy/crunchy, very filling, and reasonably priced!

Best place for sushi, just so fresh and authentic, staffs are very friendly, but you don't eat staffs or decoration, the sushi and bentos are the real deal.

Isn't it nice to finally have a place for Japanese food without all those "imitation" crap and Aussie flavoured abominations (dipping in chili sauce and mayo then deep fry it, EWWWW). Best in Balwyn hands down.
