Time Out Fed Square

Had a lovely lunch here and was served by Amber. Can I just say, it is so refreshing to see smiling staff who are not only attentive but happy to be of service in their job. We tried the fried chicken tenders which were extremely tender, juicy and moreish. The batter was light and crispy. The sauce was similar to tomato sauce but a little spicy and sweet. The cheese cigars were absolutely delicious! They were like fancier mozarella sticks - highly recommend! The lamb pizza was also very good, the meat was tender, and flavourful. Would definitely recommend this place and there was plenty of seating available

We got a table at short notice and enjoyed dinner. The BBQ chicken pizza was delicious and perfect for 2 people. Fast attentive service and nice atmosphere outside.

Let me tell you….
Today it was my beautiful grandson Scott and I, we took the train to our marvellous city and after so much walking Scotty got hungry, we chose this cool place and even though it was very busy we were lucky to get a table, so many gluten free options, As you can see from the photos my little companion enjoyed the delicious gluten free chocolate mud cake, it was so moist and full of flavour, hot chips were we love them thick and crunchy. The staff were very lovely and helpful which helps when you eat out with a two year-old boy. Thank you all, I will come back with my older grandson!!!

Time Out is always a good option for a meal in the city. They have delicious food and good service. The portion sizes are quite big so be prepared to really eat when you go here!!

I came across time out last week while waiting for the footy game to start thinking it would be a Cafe style dinner. We ordered the steak and salmon dishes from the menu, and both were absolutely delicious! The steak was ordered medium rare, which was cooked perfectly. The salmon was also excellent. I enjoy the Wasabi sauce on the salmon, I think it went together really well.

Absolutely loved it! We ordered share plates starters and drinks. Calamari, korean chicken, cheese, duo dips and prawns!!! Coolers were great. Loved the food! The only feedback we had was, use straws which work. We changed straws 3 times and none of them worked.

Food was delicious, good coffee, lovley service! Fun sitting inside and feeling the room shake from the trains. The toilets are clean. Many options of food and drink. Gluten free and vegatarian options! Obviously very close to the station, very helpful.

Absolutely love Time Out @ Fed Square. It’s by far the easiest place to meet up with friends for a casual feed smack bang in the middle of the city. I’ve been continuously going to Time Out with my friends since my uni days (15 years ago) and it’s still just as good! There’s such a variety of food and drinks to choose from. And the best thing is that you’re never disappointed by their food or service no matter sitting inside or outside. Because of their location, I try and book a table if I know I’ll be going, saves waiting in line. Look out for those orange umbrellas at Fed Square.

Had lunch with a friend. The food was delicious. The staff were so friendly and service was fast and efficient.
I forgot to take a photo of our meals as we were very hungry. So, here is my almost finished Cubano and fries. 😂🤣

Update 26dec2023: It was great to be able to enjoy Christmas Day lunch here again post-Covid. Yay! I thanked my waiter for giving up his day for us, it was very generous of him, and everyone else too.
Food was from their normal menu and I chose the absolutely delicious Pumpkin Risotto with added Chicken breast. Creamy smooth as risotto should be, delicate yet scrumptious flavour, with perfectly poached chicken pieces. 10/10
For dessert I had the Lemon Custard Tart, tart yet sweet. Something different!
All enhanced with a glass of Prosecco.
Although there was steady rain, the place was packed.
Thank you Timeout, I have my Christmas Day lunch venue back. Good work, guys.

Today, 24nov2021, spoke with them re Christmas Day. Unfortunately, this year they will be closed. What a pity. Usually, in the past, one was able to just turn up without a booking as they have the space and did not do a special Christmas feast. Hope we'll get back to normal for next year!

Pleasantly surprised at how much we liked this place!
The service was great from the moment we walked in, with the staff being extremely attentive (it was a sunny Saturday and they were really busy!).
We ordered the Halloumi & Zucchini Fritters with green peas, mint, goats cheese and a poached egg plus the Fried Eggs and Bacon on Sourdough. Both dishes arrived quickly and were hot and delicious!
After we finished we were certainly not rushed to leave and were able to take our time enjoying the sites of Federation Square.
Restaurants in central locations like this normally take advantage of the tourist dollar with service and food usually being substandard but that’s not the case here!

Nice drinks. Very tasty cakes. My sticky date pudding was a bit dry but an extra scoop of ice creams fixed it (that’s just me, I love lots of sauce). Staff are amazing. Very friendly and polite. I enjoyed my time there.

Good atmosphere and great cocktails for $16 after 3pm on the weekend

We went here for a couple of drinks this afternoon. We wanted to try something new so the Staff member named Stacy suggested us few drinks which were spectacularly delicious. Thanks Stacy.. we will definitely come back here again.

Lychee Lagoon drink is perfect for people trying alcohol for first time also Super lucky Lady (has a new name now which I can't remember but the ingredients were same) is absolutely delicious. Must try.

Awesome Gluten Free Pizzas. My kids are coeliac and this place was absolutely amazing and delicious! Highly recommended anyone with dietary requirements. A lot of catering staff, and not a big wait. Warm and friendly environment. Superb experience.

Time out is a great place to catch up with friends. Centrally located with friendly staff.
Good menu and a place with lovely outdoor seating to enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the world go by!

Time Out is a great casual restaurant in Fed Square. I took my mum there for her birthday. We were sat outside on a lovely 20 degree day. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the fish and chips and my mum had the penne. We had mojitos to drink and a sticky date pudding and apple blueberry crumble for dessert. Everything was fresh and delicious. Would recommend it to others and definitely coming back again.

This is quite a Melbourne institution. Every time a mate from another state or country visits Naarm I always bring them to Time Out for brunch because the vibe is just immaculate and the food is good. Rave about their Chicken Parma. There’s a limited selection of cocktails but mostly are good you couldn’t go wrong.
Perfect place to bring family and friends to catch up or just to watch people navigate life around the busy vicinity of Flinders Station.

Me and my wife went to this restaurant with our friends. The location is very convenient and near to Station and Federation Square. The staff were amazing. The guy who served us was so polite and he won our heart by greeting us in Nepali language(our mother tongue).

The pizza was amazing so was the drinks. Will definitely be back in my next visit to Melbourne😊
