Visited Tamura last year and I finally have time to do a review. Tamura is one of my fav sake bars in Melb. It’s cosy and intimate. Perfect for dinner or just a nibble and drinks.
I really enjoyed their yakitoris! They were flavourful and beautifully charred. The ramen blew my mind! Absolutely in love with the broth and noodles were cooked to al dente. My other fav was the octopus! It was refreshing, tangy with a bit of a kick from the wasabi. The wagyu short rib was a bit overcooked. Overall lovely food and great selection of sake! It is a true hidden gem!

Excellent, extremely tasty food, gluten and dairy free option possible. Booking recommended as it was busy. Lovely ambience, helpful customer service, interesting range of drinks. Will come again.

First time going to @tamurasakebar to dine in- I got to know them during lockdown and kept getting takeaway from them, so I am excited to actually dine in and they certainly did not disappoint ❤.

The ramen there was soooo delicious, sashimi were so fresh, really love the flavour combo! Kiddo love their bento lunch- there was so much food and they love JFC (Japanese fried chicken).

I tried a little bit of the katsu curry and their katsu was amazing, but I did find the curry slightly watery. It was such an enjoyable lunch, the kids and I can’t wait to go back again.

Had such a lovely experience here. Food was incredible as was the service and the space . Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Impressive jazz record collection. Will absolutely go again.

The best Sake Bar in Melbourne hands down. Amazing hospitality, chilled vibe, and most of all extensive range of drinks and fantastic foods. Ale and Tatsuya were superb. Highly recommended!

Must visit!! The foods are delicious and great also they place record players and using that to playing music!!

What an amazing venue. We went there for drinks and some light dishes before our dinner booking at another venue which we ended up leaving and coming back to for dinner. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and the food is some of the best I've ever had.
Thanks to fumi and his lovely wife and staff, we will definitely be back.

My friend and I visited on the 13/04 and had a great time. Some of the best Japanese we’ve both had. Food and drinks were amazing as was service. The music and record collection was also great. All three staff members were super friendly and accomodating.

Awesome Izakaya with a lively atmosphere and a great sake list. The food is excellent with lots of delicious small dishes and yakitori. The sushi is high level for an Izakaya. The Vintage Jazz and funk playlist completes the vibe 🎺🍣🙌

Have to say that it almost felt like a detour to Japan, beautiful sake, tsukune, sando and ramen. If you like dry taste, try benten musume which is from tottori in Japan (also the only place there which has a dessert). If you like warm sake, nigori is nice drinking warm.

The shop is just cute and attentive staff! Lovely experiences, great for a drink or two on weekdays/weekend m night!

We came here on a weekday afternoon. It was quiet but good atmosphere. Nice place to chat with friends or even for dating. We didn’t try the food but tried a few sake and flavor ones.
I personally like the flavor ones, while my friend, as a big fan of sake, loves the classics.
They also have some guest sakes to keep you surprised every time you come.

I’d give it 6 stars if I could! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, they chose amazing sakes for my friend and I to try and explained the flavours of each of them beforehand. The food was great - highly recommend the tuna sashimi, miso eggplant yakitori and JFC!! The brown sugar plum negroni was amazing. The vibe of this place is awesome with the records playing. It honestly felt like I was back in Japan. Can’t wait to head back!

One of the best Japanese places I have been too. Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Vibes were amazing. It was a little small so I imagine this place will get super busy. High recommend I will be coming back.

Not just for "Big salary man!" An absolutely incredible place with amazing atmosphere, great food, and if course an awesome selection of sake. Staff is happy to help out it all together for the lost or new.

Nice little Japanese bar. Nice selection of nihonshu (sake) and knowledgeable bar staff. The food was geared more towards the sorry of food you'd have whilst drinking. I love the chilled vibe to the place as well

This place is one of Melbourne greatest sips, nibbles, feeds, and experiences. If you haven’t been here … be better … Alessandro will hold your hands through Sake’s finest play ground. Hell See your saw with mood lighting. Sake flight … into your favorite … share one of the small tapas … ramen … potato salad … pickled edemame … close Your eyes and point you’ll win … this place is a gem … just make sure you finish with the sesame and macadamia vanilla ice cream … thank me later

Great selections of Sake and wonderful Japanese dishes. Atmosphere is perfect. Perfect portion and not expensive. Please try Chicken Katsu curry. Tender and juicy chicken ever. Staffs are always friendly and kind.

Excellent service, delicious food and great range of sake and whisky. We had a lot of small plates including the sando, yakatori skewers, steak tataki, and fried scallops.

Really nice staff and a chilled energy. All the food offerings are delicious, the only mistake you could make is getting the normal ramen over the spicy ramen - definitely go the spicy!

If you're coming in a group bigger than 2, try to book ahead and avoid getting stuck on a corner. Otherwise, it's a cosy little place and definitely worth your time.
