Sailors Falls Mineral Spring

Visited on Tuesday, 5 Mar 2024. The fall was empty of water and the mineral water was contaminated by rotten rust, corrosion. I only tasted it without drinking.

It's a nice place to stop by if you are already near by or need a time to kill to chat with friends, stretch, etc.

However, I would recommend somewhere else if you are expecting to see a fall or top up mineral water in this time of the year.

Still water flowing, seeing it's been very dry that was a bonus. Great views from the lookout. Sad the loop walk is closed, but it is quite do-able. Toilets, picnic areas are good.

Stunning area. Water tastes great. Easy access to it. Shame the circular walk was out of action due to storm damage over a year ago... still not fixed but the at least I could walk along was so peaceful. Bit of a hike down well made stairs. Worth it.

Such beautiful and fun trails to explore! I love the serene atmosphere of this place. There is also a lovely waterfall along the trails. The water from the mineral spring tastes gross, but it's all part of the experience :-)

Good springs that can be accessed right from the main road (Ballan - Daylesford road). You can see the falls from the top without going down the stairs.

There are two lookout areas - upper deck and lower deck. The metal stairs takevyou to upper deck. While the falls are visible from here, the complete view is obliterated by trees. The stone stairs (can be slippery) take you to the lower deck which is no better than upper deck in terms of the view.

There is a short trail to the falls which is muddy and can be very slippery. But there is a great view of the falls at the end of it.

There is a 140 mts trail to the mineral springs pump. From there you can continue on the trail and see other springs but this is as far as we got to.

Good experience.

Breathtaking spot to stop by on the way to Daylesford. The place has some information boards about the history this fall and Daylesford, benches to enjoy your food and a old-fashioned toilet.
There are several trails and circuits too, beautiful bushes and shrubs along the track.

Beautiful place. Just a few steps from the parking. Walking all the way down near the base is fun. Great place to visit if you are visiting Daylesford Victoria.

Wonderful little spot just outside of Daylesford on the main road in - worth a stop! When there’s been rain, it looks spectacular. Nice stairway with handrails to go down, and you can visit the base of the falls too. Also there is a sulphur spring at the top

Washrooms weren't too decent but otherwise small scenic spot...

Beautiful. Even though we went in the hot summer and there was no water. Easy access. Easy to see. 1 minute walk from road! There is a mineral springs pump there too!

Great place to for for a walk with kids and/or pets. We walked the 2 km track around the falls and was very pleasant.

Nice waterfall that is next to the car park, and a short stroll down a set of fairly steep stairs. Worthwhile visiting when in Daylesford given it is only 5mins drive away.

One of the most beautiful spots, not far from Melbourne. The falls are amazing and the vegetation is superb.

Nice spot to stop on your drive. Lots of walking options. Very scenic and toliets on site

Not the best falls around Melbourne but falls never hurt so great experience overall.

Great spot to bring ppl too before heading in to Daylesford, it’s a treat to see the Waterfall and you don’t have to venture too far to see it. Although there are walking trails, they may be closed from the Floods in Sep 22. We visited Aug 2023 and still closed down the bottom, but the family I took still enjoyed it.
